hi there. iv recently got a 1.4 1994 si however i do have an issue with it. when pulling up to lights or junction it can cutout. been told that if i disconnect the air flow meter this issue will stop?

any help would be most welcome

not really had dealing with the 1.4 Si but it sounds like its the ISCV too me

take it off and give it a clean with brake/carb cleaner

Don't the CVH engines have problems with blocked breather hoses? might be worth a check. Sounds awfully like ISCV though if it's the same mechanism as Zetec ones...

alright mate! noticed your from south wales? where abouts are you?

ive had to 1.4 sis now.

clean idle speed control valve up like onslack said and also clean up the round black box thing next to the top left of the rocker cover! its a breather valve thing or sumin but they get clogged up with gunk.

also give it a good service and it will run much better!
