its a close-coupled cat on the C2 so its actually on the manifold. So it woud be a lot of work to refit a cat as the currently available manifolds are de-cat basically.

Hopefully GSR are working on a manifold with a sports cat which may be worth a look.

Actually, I am not aiming at round 52 with that one.

My arguement has been that the ST is underpowered for a 2.0, and the fact that you can release quite a few ponies with a piece of flexi pipe backs that up.

As I have always said the fact that a 1.6 and 2.0 are even comparable is bad and that is down to an exellent french 1.6 vs a restricted ford 2.0.

By all means the ST has the potential for more power, but in standard form it is rubbish and should be comparable to the 172/182 as standard.

flexi pipe has a 20mm restricted bore on it, while the exhaust is 42mm or something. Performance flexi pipes remove this

Airbox is also crap, hence why the k+n releases on average 11.8bhp (RR Tests on STOC)

combined: 165+bhp 150ish lb/ft

and it was restriced in an attempt to keep the insurance low as ford hatches get hit for insurance

Im not overly bothered about having to spend £200 to break 15bhp from my car, I've said it before, I use my car to go to work. I can safely overtake, I do like modding hence why I will fit a flexipipe, but its not because im scared of being thrashed. im 26.

Worrying about a 1.6 tu nearing my powerband or a renaultsport clio pooning my ass with its sheer might never enters my head when trying to get passed two wagons doing 40 in a 60.

i do love my ST, i was stuck in traffic for 2.5 hours today and it was thoroughly pleasant, and the standard exhaust popped on demand

i do like the st they are a nice car,they could of come with more power from the factory but then the insurance group would be higher as for the cilos yes they may be faster and i looked at a few 182 with my brother in the end he chose the st because he thought it was better bulit and nicer to drive and 2bh i argee,i cant comment on the c2 because i have never drove one but if it handles like the saxo vts/106 gti then i bet its a nice car to drive,i have always a soft spot for a c2 gt they do look nice but are a bit 2 small in the boot depermant for my liking,thats not to say im slagging the car off though
