Do the aforementioned mods and then skim the block, lighten the flywheel, port and polish the head, ECU remap to take into consideration the new bits and the higher compression ratio Then rolling road it so we can giggle like girls when people said "you can't modify a 1600".

You will find to insure the 1.6 is a shit load of engine mods won't be cheap either.

I did pay ?1500 on mine, but with that my first year in my 1.1 was ?1500 so I didn't complain.

Its always worth phoning afew insurance companys and asking what if I did put a 2.0 in, a lot of people find the difference isn't huge.

or perhaps get the lightened flywheel etcetc then when the insurance drops after ncb drop the 2litre in with your sparkling new bits you put on the 1.6

Would be funny to have a stage 3 1.6 though. Look at the JWRC Fiesta, that's only 1600 running a Duratec I think and thats 230bhp ish
