** Update **
well had an earlyish start today as i wanted too help alex get a few bits doe too his saph and we were going too get a few bits done too mine
day started off well, the socket alex had turned down too remove his head was still too big
, so we couldn't get it off
we then decided it was time to start re-wiring my fuel pump, but wanted too get a voltage reading when the car was idling from the pump and battery for a before and after comparision
but when it came too find alex's multi metre he couldn't find it anywhere
, so we went too focus too get some drill bits for his door cards and too search for a multi metre, we searched high and low and couldn't find one so we asked for help....
the dude that did "help" us has the most blank look on his face when alex asked where the multi metre's were
we were told we dont so any, great
so we chance our luck in halfords....... the cheap version we wanted was out of stock and neitehr of us were prepared too pay £50 for the only brand they did have in stock
so we head back onto the road and then decide too try argos...luckily they did have 1 in stock so that was snapped up quickly
New Fuel Pump Rewire Bits:-
we got back too alex's place and he got the readings
Voltage readings we got were
Before:-
Battery - 13.8v
Fuel Pump - 11.8
a loss of 2v over the old ford wiring
After:-
Battery - 13.8v
Fuel Pump - 13.4v
a loss now of 0.4v
the nice high reading on my battery means that it looks like my alternator to battery wiring is still ok
we did have a little trouble with running out of connectors so had too head back too halfords
i didn't get any pic's of the work as i was trying my best to help with what ever i could, i will get pic's of the finished article tomorrow
alex then kindly tackled my fan wiring, the old ford wiring was disconnected, taped up and placed back and the 30A fuse that ran the fans were removed
alex the put new connectors onto the fan's wiring loom so it could mate too my new braided fan loom hose
Fan Loom:-
it was getting dark so again no pic's but i'll get some tomorrow when its light outside
the fan connectors were bridged too test that they were sucking rather than blowing
we decided too trace back the wiring for my in car fn over ride switch....what we found was a bit of a mess, 1 cable was dead 1 min then as soon as i flicked my lights on it got a live voltage reading
, luckily i had taped it up when i put my headunit in or it could have caused some big issues
we're going too tackle that when i next see alex, dash off job tooo check properly behind there and too sort out my over ride switch
again a BIG thanks too alex aka cs detailing he's been an awesome help, i wouldn't of had a clue other wise
next on my list are a few less important bits but still vital too the safe running of my enigne, the mist important and bits that always worries me when out in the car have now been sorted
might just be me, but she feels stronger coming on boost now
