I have a 1994/95 1.6 fiesta si and it has a slight oil leak. Its been in the garage and they have changed the sump seal and both crank shaft oil seals but it still has the leak. It leaks from the gear box side but its not the gear box its definatly engine oil. Does any one have an idea where it could be leaking from

Welcome too fsi

You sure its gearbox end?have you checked your oil pressure switch for a leak?could be leaking from there and running towards the gearbox end or have you checked for any oil leaks from your rocker cover gasket?
Or from your oil filter?

Cant really think of anywhere else that might leak that you haven't had replaced already

I have just had another thought, there's a rubber pipe(rocker breather pipe) that connects too the right hand side of rocker cover, that pipe run's too your air box if you still have one,is it still connected too your air box or is it hanging near your gearbox?i say this beatse if your car is breathing heavily it'll leak oil out this pipe,my air box use too have a nice puddle of oil in it!lol

Let us know how you get on

yeah its definatly from where the gear box joins to the engine. I have checked all sensors and oil filter and rocker cover ect and they are in brill condition. Its not the rocker breather pipe either as i have like a mini k&n attatched to where that used to be and its bone dry. The cars been into the garage with the same problem about 6 times and they have failed to fix it and its cost me a fortune so far. Every time its gone to the garage its had a new sump seal and crankshaft seals fitted so I know they are fine. Now they are saying the next step is to totally remove the engine and strip it down to find the leak which will obviously cost me another fortune. The car has only done about 59000 genuine miles and only had one previous owner and its got a full service history from ford and appart from the leak it is in mint condition so its worth maintaining it. If anyones got any ideas as to where its coming from i'd be so greatful as i think it'd be cheaper for me to buy an engine lifter and do it my self rather than the garage ripping me off again but i cant think where else it could be leaking from. Thank you
