Hey thought i'd introduce my car (as i'm getting excited about it again)

I bought my fiesta back in june after selling my xr2i and well haven't had much drive time in it basically

Speant a couple of months sorting the MOT out for it when I had time, then got it all MOT'd and taxed for TRAX in september, drove it up there and then as predicted the car went poof! and poured smoke out everywhere. It was like fog. (If anyone saw a fiesta causing a smokescreen at trax, t'was me no doubt!)

Anyways after a few people that knew a thing or two about these motor's came back to me both saying 'piston rings mate' followed by 'how much you want for it' rather swiftly after i got suspicious and decided to leave it a while to think what to do with the car.
Anyways I failed at selling it cause i loved it too much and well I speant all my spare money pissing about on my Rat Corsa (Stupid, but fun) and generally having a life.

Cut to the chase now.. lol.
My mate took the head off for me to have a look at the damage

Image

Since it's been 2 months doing nothing.. I was ecstactically happy that this told us the piston rings weren't shot!
But the oil stem seals were.. so i'm now waiting on my head set to come from FAI.

Only got a couple of pics of it seeing as it didn't get a chance to be photo's much off my driveway!

My mate checking the oil at silverstone

This is like the day I got it

IT's somehow managed to gain a couple of dents and stuff from sitting on the driveway which peeved me off some!

The engine's a Rs turbo zvh 2.0, and does half pull well  So many teething problems with it though it's really disheartening!

Plans for it are pretty simple for now:
Oil pressure switch leak!!
Coilovers
De-handling+locking
Respray in same colour in the dodgey places
Uprated brakes
HIDs

Also would like to sort next MOT's work out!!

I've ordered my new head gasket (£42 for JUST the gasket) and some non stretch headbolts to at least I don't have to keep purchasing them if it goes tits up again!
Waiting on my mate to get me a total head set from FAI but not heard from him.. i'll ask tomorrow in the morning and if no luck then looks like i'm off to ebay for a set.

Also i would like some help if anyone knows where I can get some coilovers? I'm really wanting to get the car a tad lower and handle much better.. but i can only find pricey sets of £500+ and well it'll take me a while to save that :P

Also thought i'd chuck in a pic of my current runabout, ratty corsa 1.5D (y)

Thanks, i do love my corsa a tad... only Corsa I've ever liked really :P

Jesus £60? That's for JUST the head gasket? Bloody hell that's extortionate.
Thanks for coilies advice but i have yet to see any of ebay.. that and i'm confused as to what ones actually fit as some say rs turbo/xr2i/Si and others don't.
So what set of coilies are correct for the 1.6 Si? (Like are they different to the rs/xr2i at all?)

Shall keep browsing for a set in the meantime!

Head gasket arrived from burton earlier today (special delivery wheeey!) and my mate at FAI still hasn't managed to get a full head set made up there so out of impatience I was talking with my mate who's giving me a big hand through this and he said he'll be able to get a gasket set and new cambelt tomorrow (or today now i'm posting) and we should be in theory be able to rebuild the top end by the end of the day.

I pray my new head bolts get delivered today but sod's law and all I highly doubt they will :(

yeah cossie repairs are a tad extreme,it didn't hit me too bad i just kept it off the road and bought a part every month or so

yeah the fuel flap and wing mirrors and signs on the out side, but the 3.5's have bars across the doors for extra safety and some other jiggery pokery :hsugh: :nerd:

thats not bad price on new avo's

drop matt si on here a pm, he owns blacksheep motorsport( there's a thread in the general section, do a search for blacksheep motorsport) he should be able too sort you out a good deal as your an fsi member ;)

gotta love playing with new fairly powerful cars :chill:

Car was put back together and sat running for a while with seemingly no issues, so with that i switched my insurance over which cost me a dear £90 extra on top of my premium so no going back now!

Took the car out for a drive up to milton keynes and incountered my oil light flashing when idling or off throttle which is 'apparently' meant to happen as it's a low psi switch we put in there. As I was scooting down the bypass doing 80 and it still was flashing on concerned me and i pulled over to put more oil in as it looked low on the dipstick.

Not 10 minutes later and I pulled over again after dropping my friend off as the engine sounded sounded VERY tappity and possibly sounded like it was on 3 cylinders.
Checked the oil, it was fine but then the car wouldn't start as it seemed the battery had died. Got a tow home and looked at it earlier today.

A hydrolic lifter appeared to have went dry so we coated it with all to help it in and out and but it back together but it still sticks.. not happy. Also still sounds like it running a bit kak. It's starting to tick me off again!!

Anyone got any clues?

Cheers mate, i'm fed up with all the crap it's givern me since i got it but i'm sticking with it!

Ordered ONE tappet for £6 LOL, hopefully that should fix my problem with it.
Also i need a new temperature sensor as my dash isn't reading the temp at all with i'm severly concerned with as my fan switch also seems to be broken :(
So in the meantime i've wired up some speaker cable next to my ignition to the fan plug so i can join them together when i'm in traffic or something.. i had a switch but it vanished :S Will probs keep it on a manual switch but properly fit it as apparently the sensor burning out are a common fault.

Well since there's no pics here's one of my only sticker on the car
