ok so ive had enough of the ashley system. i managed to sort the blowing out but the sodding thing just doesnt fit properly!! it rattles and hits the bottom of the car and its gettiing on my nerves!

noticed that burton power sell janspeed systems 4 a 2i 4 £195.

but i cant tell if its a stainless steel or mild steel system. does anyone know what it would be?

i know how to fit an exhaust guys!

it just hits the bottom of the car at the backbox. i gota feeling the pipe has been cut to get the backbox off in the past.

ill mps fit longer mounts to drop it down a bit and fit a 3" tip 4 more rasp. plus 4" is a bit big.

i fancy a stainless thou. but love the noise of an ashley.

whilst ashley systems are cheap..they are that for a reason. if you look through the old school forums. anyone thats binned one has done it because they are fed up with it not fitting as well as should..but people keep buying so they keep making!....many moons ago one of my mates had a janspeed stainless system on a mk3 (pushrod rattler). nice and raspy...and it fitted pretty well too and was nicely made and wasnt a monster size tailpipe...like the ones he then proceeded to fit to his following si's

but your not alone there alot of people that like ashley..and alot of people that dont through various bad experiences. your call on what you buy to be honest, but i wouldnt spend money on ashley again. unless i needed a cheap mainstream manifold to get me out of trouble.

When I had it fitted I had one of these exhaust mounts on mid section from zippyracing, also it was cut cause backbox was too close to rear panel and use to knock

uve mentioned both cutting and joining, who done this? maybe if it had'nt been mesed with the ashley would fit ok?

well where the pipe goes over the rear beam it hits the bottom of the car. getting on
my nerves now lol.

and it blows at the bottom of the manifold. as they are in two pieces. i welded the most of it up but cant get down in between where the 2 pipes go into 1.

not sure what to do yet.

like jam said i have also heard in the past that they dont fit very well.

Try fitting a longer exhaust mount on mid section should stop it from hitting the car

didn't blow on that bit did blow on joint were it attaches to mid sections once
