hi i need to replace my gearbox as i have lost second gear for some reason what gearbox will fit and last longer cheers i am not intrested in top end as dont want to lose license yet so would like faster pull away hope someone can help cheers

will a 1.3 gearbox give better pull away than the 1.4 si gearbox

thats what i have been told but scared to put a 1.1 box on it as i would probaly blow that up :banghead: wanted the lsd turbo box on it but it will make it slower pull away (higher gear ratio i have been told) so do you no what other gear boxs will go on the 1.4 fsi that will keep the pull away as obviously i am not going to break speed records in a 1.4 :(

Despite popular belief the lower boxs are as strong as the higher boxs so a 1.1 box would be fine.

Surely your car is still drive able, I can go without 2nd.

hi dont no if it the gear box now as my clutch went lastnight so might just be new clutch and cable as it very stiff so now car dont move just revs and i can select gears while car is running so dont no what to do :x
