Right,
My aim was to remove the rear axle on my Si based kitcar and replace the bushes. While the axle was off i was going to give it ia lick of paint to tidy it up before the car gets resprayed in January.

Problem
When trying to remove the bolt on the passenger side that holds the rear strut into the rear axle (bottom strut mount) the bolt is loose but wont withdraw because it has rusted to the metal sleeve within the lower strut bush.

Solution
Still drop the rear axle but leave the rear passenger strut attached at the bottom and just release it from its top mount.

Problem
To drop the rear axle i need to take the drum off so that i can remove the handbrake cable. My torque wrench isnt big enough to release the hub nut (or im not strong enough) and the four bolts on the back of the backplate wont budge either.

Solution
Admit defeat and drive the car to the local garage for them to remove the axle.

Problem
The rear passenger lower strut bolt mentioned above also refuses to retighten and just turns so i cant reattach the passenger strut fully.

Solution???
What should i do next, im under pressure as the car is on the drive and the weather is getting worse and the puddles are getting bigger. The car needs to be drivable for January.

Thanks
Stuart
