both may wings are fu*ked and need replacing. How much shoud i be paying for 2 new blank winds and fitting. I know thay will need spot welding too fit so i think thats the most cost as its a tricky job. so far iv found wings for £16 each and bean quoted £300 for fitting and spraying. Is that about wright or am i being ripped off!

spot welding with the correct equipment is a doddle.. its the alignment that takes the time...but id spend a bit more on wings to be honest...16 quid wings will fit like 16 quid wings and will most likely be a bit of a twat to line up..but if you think..thats not too bad cost wise. thats say 4.5 hours labour at about 50 quid an hour plus the cost of the paint etc factored in i think thats pretty reasonable.

spending more on the wings could also save on labour time, as no doubt they will bump up the price when they have to spend an extra 2 hours making the ill fitting ones actually fit!!

so you think i should spend more on the wings for a better fit. does anyone know of any good stockist of wings i wish thay were bolt and go like novas ect. would be loads easyer

you can bolt wings back on rather then spot weld i believe is possible?

you cant replace spotwelds with bolts on a road legal car.. panels if replaced are to be fixed on to the same standards as when it was manufactured. if you have an old golf per say..yes you can have bolt on wings its perfectly legal..thats how it left the factory..fords were spot welded on, thats how they have to be attached..even though its not structural..those are the rules......

however if you have a friendly MOT tester that will pass it then by all means go ahead and bolt them on

ok so iv got some good wings for 35 quid inc VAT good fit ones and will be fitted next sat with my RS arches and skirts. picked up my new tyres 195/40/16's and had fitted to my rims. its starting to come together but mite be a couple of weeks before i can afford to get it spayed up and my rims powder coted white.
