ok so here we go, fancy steppin up in the world and i want to turbo my car its a 1.6 zetec fiesta si
i need as much help as possible with this, were to get a turbo manifold, turbo, intercooler ect.....
i understand everythin will have to be upgaded cams pully's but what ones to get and any other helpful tips and what to change would be a beast!!

Don't bother. Bang a 2litre in for £50 and end up with more power than a 1.6 turbo.

You should really give me £10 as I just saved you about £2000.

yes i kno in the long run a 2 ltr would be the best option but i want to keep some form or mpg lol and i just want that boost there for the thrill of a turbo that way if i ever do get a 2ltr the kit will be there so for now just want to turbo my 1.6 along with the magnex exhaust piper cam kit and piper induction kit
soo.....

but cheers for your opinion all the same :thumbsup:

You will find that a 2.0 has very good mpg.

As for turbo'ing the 1.6 I really wouldn't bother as it will cost a small fortune, best option would be fit an RS turbo engine as these are ready built 1.6 turbos.

i second that in my opinion A 2L is more fuel efective as you can use less revs as there is more torque for "eco" driving and then there is more BHP for when you put your foot down , even though i must say the 1.6 16v is a very good engine for fuel consumption i was ragging mine about doing the rev limiter most of the time and i only drank 1/5 of a tank ...that was for a good cuple of hours of driving ... my m8s rs turbo can do 60 lesters of fuel in the same time !!!!

ok fair play. see the thing is my engne is absolutly beautiful it would be a shame to rip it out so i might rethink the turbo'ing and just tune it, spend the 1500-2000 id spend turbo'in it on things like e.c.u chip re map 4 banch cams pully's what do you think of that idea ? and what sort of power am i looking at if i do all that ??

Sorry to say but if you really have that kind of money to throw at an engine don't do it to the 1.6 zetec, for all the work you mentioned I can see it making 125bhp, stick a 2.0 in and you have that power instantly. Stick a 2.0 in then do all that work and you have a monster.

although id have to agree with the 2.0l transplant, if you've got the cash to do the 1.6, do it, i did it to mine but it wasnt cheap but if your car is in excellent condition like mine then why not poor some cash at it :)
you would end up with something unique like my Si which is still going strong and may be the only one still running a 1.6 zetec turbo (i could be completely wrong here tho lol)
ok, i have never had mine on the rollers but i know it goes pretty well :thumbsup:

even the 1.8 would be a good place to startt i have a 1.8 sitting in the garden but thats not being turbo'ed i am building a 2L turbo in the near futrue though

If you want to make a 'budget' zetec turbo then a 1.8 is a good way to go actually. Basically you can use a decomp plate and the standard pistions will take it. The 2.0 is on the other hand won't and will need new pistons etc. Of course if you want monster power then that is the way forward.
