Right, i have a set of 205/40/R16 Mondeo Zetec alloys lying in my garage ready to put on my car once i have the insurance set up.
I have a 1994 Fiesta Si 16v. Does anyone know what spacers i need to make the wheels fit my car?
I know you need more than 3mm on the front because i have tried that.
Just getting ready and i'm in a ordering mood
Thank you.

I think you will need at least 5mm on the front.

If you're getting 10's then you'll have to watch that it doesn't push the tyre out past the arch as thats an MOT fail!!

You can have up to 20mm sticking out past the arch, but the tread must not poke out past the arch.

Cheers

Paul

they come in 2 offsets. 35 and 40. you most likeley have the 40's as they are the most common. will be cast into the wheel behind the centre cap. something like ET40. 5mm is usually sufficient. if you go for 10mm..you really need to look at putting longer studs in there..as youve taken away 10mm of thread from your nut..which is about 5 turns of the nut..studs are cheap and not difficult to fit and would be worth the 5 or 6 quid it will cost in parts for peace of mind the nuts got a good bite on the stud.

Hope that helps.

Yeah i was gunna get the XR2i/RST/RS1800 skirts and arches to make it look better and legal for wider wheels and whatnot. :)

Do i need spacers for the back wheels?

I haven't tried them on the back wheels. But when i put them on the front wheels with no spacers on the wheel didn't even move because it was jammed on the shock absorber, so 3mm sorted that out but when i turned the wheel at not even full lock it rubbed.

Also is it easy to change the studs then?

I'll go get dressed and have a look at the offset of the wheels. It's probably 40 like you said.
Sorry, lazy day off with the missus lol

Ok... so if i get 5mm spacers i won't have to get new studs.
But will i still get rubbing on full lock?
I don't aim to make the wheels stick out more and look like a hotrod or anything so i don't care how big the spacers have to be as long as i don't have rubbing on full lock.
Also... do i need spacers on the back?

you wont need spacers on the back you can get big fat escos rims on the back without spacers and still get your hand up the back of the wheel. so that end will be fine.

front wise...5mm is fine for studs..past that i really would consider putting longer ones in. as for spacing and full lock rubbing for the most part its a case of trial and error there are no set rules as each car is slightly different. however i know most people just poke up with the full lock rubbing and either change wheels for mot..or have a friendly tester.

studs..wheel off..brakes off unbolt only dont disturb fluid lines...smack old ones out. new ones in. brakes on. wheel on job done.

My Zetecs are the same size apart from the tyres are 45's instead. So they should fit apparently with some 5mm+ spacers on front.
