fiesta? lol couldnt fit that last word in the title.

Basically, as some of you might be aware, im converting my 1.3 into a 1.6 and while messing with the engine today unplugging it all and that ready to be taken out, i realised it has a rear mounted starter motor (engine is coming from an escort), basically all i need to know is will it be able to be put the engine into the fiesta? The starter is mounted up near the top of the gearbox too...

Im sure i will, i dont see why not. I just need someone to confirm its all ok or not lol

Found out now lol, answer is yes

Also found out you can put a fiesta gearbox on and make it front mounted starter instead of rear... so all is good

so czan you have the starter on the back of the engine with a standerd 1.6 si gear box as i want to make a custom exdorst and i want to move the starter motor?

You cant with a standard 1.6 gearbox because the hole for the starter is at the front of the gearbox, if you was to get a gearbox which had the hole for the starter at the back - ie. and escort one, you could put the starter at the back.

does evry thing connect up the same with a escort box as with a fiesta box ? plus is there any way at all to usse a foesta box with the starter motor at the back ?
as i want to use a LSD .. or will a fiesta turbo LSD fit in the escort box?

ok soo can i just use the bell housing insted of changing the entier gear box?

Well if the bell housing is changed the gearbox has to come out. Takeing gearboxes apart is not easy, unless you know what your doing.

Replacing the bell housing is a simple nuts and bolts job is it not?
I was under the impression that the bellhousing was removed from the engine side of the gearbox rather working towards it from the other end!!

ok i just want to ask one more quiestion i have now got a escor engine and gear box (1.8) with starter at the back ... i take it it will all fit ok
