Soooo the car has to be broken down to use one of them, me thinks ill just pull a HT lead out, then if i get stopped, i'll just go look wont start, chug chug chug!

306/406 are decent cars for towing i would say or golf/passat/bora i dont know how much they cost though

i know people who tow with A frames on the motorway i dont know how legal it is am sure he isnt to bothered with the name dodgy rog lol but does seem you can get away with it

legal limit for an 'unbraked' trailer is 750kg. youll also find using a decent sized tow vehicle, what your pulling wont push the car about as much. hence why peole use 4 wheel drives/big estates/ well loaded vans to tow. not only that. its easier to pull a trailer when your looking down on it.

my only question is..if the worst happens and the car gets wanked....how you gonna be able to dolly it home? breakdown places wont touch it..and if they do the rape stick will be out. you can get trailers the size of the car virtually. i know of a couple of people that get them into garages..normal garages ,car on the trailer.

with motorsport. plan for the worst..if it doesnt happen. result. if it does..you can deal with it without having to beg borrow and steal

im with Jam on this one, expect that the car wont roll after every race! that way if something bad does happen then ur all gd!

u can go on motor ways with Aframes, mate tows beetles with his camper on motorways so should be all gd.

landy disco, would be a gd idea but not great on fuel, well mine never was really. but anuf power to tow for sure.

Meh well trailers for me means 2 things..

My escort van will prob be over its GTW, and I'll be nearing the limit before I have to do trailer licence*


*as you may not be aware of, after 1997 people who did the test need to do a trailer test... but you can drive with a trailer as long as the mass weight of the tow vehicle + trailer + load is not over 3.5tonne.. and the trailer+weight is not over the tow cars weight, and not over the tow cars towing weight, and as long as you have a correct trailer of course.. vague eg. 1.5tonne car, which has a towing weight of 2 tonne, you could tow 1.5 tonne total weight of correct trailer and load.. 1.5+1.5=3; is under the 3.5 limit and under the cars towing rated limit but you cannot tow more than than the towing vehicle without having to do the extra license.

One of my mates bought a bus once, ripped all the seats out and put the car in the bus itsself!
