the 2i is a rare car now especialy the 1.6 8v (the better 1) id still have mine if the previouse owners hadnt thrashed it so hard then passed it on to me, i loved that car so much but when it got to the point i was fixing it almost every week and throwing money at it just to keep it running i had to let it go, i'll always miss my 2i.
if you have a good 1 you have to keep it, like its already been said the values will only start to go up. just dont think about the rust ect, mine looked good but i used it in all weathers, just do the rust proofing stuff and wash it alot in the winter dont worry about what might happen.

Man up! I had to drop £350 on my Clio on Friday and it still will need another few hundred in a few more weeks. Cars all cost money. Mines 5 years old and has all the same problems any car of any age does. Anything out of warrenty you could say might rust. My Mums fiesta was starting to rust on the inner sills at less than 5 years old. Shit still goes! Just stick with one car. You waste more money keep chopping!

Renault discs are £120 and pads are £60 and I paid £192 on my top cock gear so really it made nigh-on no difference lol.
