cant beleive it mate.

to be fair the ford garage i work in checking the screen isnt part of a pre-site inspection we just service the car.

although if you kick up a fuss to the sales rep who sold it to you then you should be able to make them pay for it. i know its been done before :thumbsup:

Newer cars do seem better setup without, not saying my C2 will clear a screen as fast as a heated one, but its a lot quicker than previous cars.

Just do what I do if the car is frozen, get the bus :lol:

its all checked on brand new cars but for second hand cars its just a basic oil/filter change and a vehicle health check. the windscreen electrics doesnt come into it im afraid mate. no idea why. although if it was picked up in the service sales may never have bothered fixing it, thats what normally happens at my place anyway :x

dont know if thats very helpfull

by law you have 14 days to cancel the deal ;)

main dealers are just robbing c***s my next door neighbour just past her test and went and got a 51 reg 1.0 corsa poverty spec thing from a vauxyawn dealer within a day the engine mangment light came on and there was a loud banging coming from passanger side.
it lost all power (if you can say a 1.0 corsa has any) :lolz:
she took it back and was basicly told to sod off, myself and another neighbour went back with her just the mention of trading standards got em to take it and look it got a new drive shaft fitted and another check nothing wrong aparantly 2 days later lost all power i had a look the oil stunk of petrol and the expansion tank was full of throfy water she phoned trading standards they emailed her a letter (duno what was on it) but we went back they read it and offered her a Y reg higher spec lower millage corsa 1.4 as a swap :thumbsup:


keep on at em until they sort it DONT let em drag it out until the time is up and its your responsability.

Percy when you have a train to run at 4 in the morning i cant really wait for a bus to turn up :lol:

Buses are good as you dont have to drive but theyre not particularly comfortable, no stereo, if you fart on the bus everyone feels awkward and you have to sit next to someone with a disease or virus and shares it with everyone, and you pay for that :P

I am sure you know I was joking about waitng, I know they aren't always the best option. But I do have a few points.

No stereo, not an issue with an Mp3 player of your choice. Farting... just hold it in and look like this :x . Having to sit next to someone with a disease is a a bit dramatic, most people don't have problems and just want to get to work like you.

On the flipside I get a good hour+ of gaming on my DS instead of sitting there driving/waiting for traffic to move.

When its busy bus lanes are brilliant.

I don't have to pay parking at £4 per day.

And the big one to me is I don't pay a penny for my bus pass as my work give it me.

Of course if they don't run at the right times etc then all is lost.

demanded to speak to the manager who told me they had ordered a new windscreen and they would call me to have it fitted. for free. 8-)

i wait and see.....
