that solenoid your pointing to in your second pic is for your egr system ;)

that loose pipe in your hand looks like a vacuum hose, is there a hose missing from the back of your inlet?

the big metal thing that has your throttle body attached to it is your inlet ;)

when you have time and a free moment in day light, stick your had around the back of the inlet and have a feel, iirc there should be 2-3 tak offs on there(been a long time since i look at a zetec inlet :red:  ) as that pipe thats loose with a 90 degree bend on it looks to me like a pipe off your inlet, is this the pipe your on about as i'm getting confused as to which pipe your on about :lolz:

ok, so the top picture I'm pointing to the end of the lead thing I have in my hand in the second picture.

Haha where are the throttle bodies ;) not at the front where the maifold is? But at the back I'm guessing?

the big metal thing with EFI on it is your inlet ;)

inlet is at the back of the engine( by the wind screen), follow that plastic pipe from your k&n that will lead to your throttle body, which is attached to your inlet

ok so the pipe from that solenoid, 1 pipe gos to the back of the inlet and the other runs to the EGR system which attached to the front of the block by the rad!

so whats the other pipe that you have in your hand in pic 1?

The pipe in the 1st pic is just coiled up in my hand.. It's all one thing Which the. Leads to the bit I'm pointing to. The car runs and everything, just surely it should be plugged in somewhere. :lolz:

ahhh i get you now :lolz: :red:

if thats the case then, the end with the 90 degree bend should be connected to your EGR unit by your exhaust

if you look at your exhaust you'll see a little box just off to the right of it, near the coil pack, iirc that rubber hose goes on the under side of that box

let us know if you find it

ok I shall have a look tommorow. I may drag my dad out to look as wells even though he hates cars now (after being a mech for 15 years) hence why I ask you guy as he refuses to help most of the time! Although he fixed my cd player :) I'll just go our and have a pop, what does that do then when plugged in?
Thanks for the help I see why you got that award

with the arches mate, i'd take all the xr2i kit off the car treat the all the rot grind it back to bare metal paint with hammerite or something use screws or rivets for the side skirts but for the arches use mastic (except for the one screw at the bottom)thats designed for metal to plastic i got some brillant stuff for my xr2i rep :) it saves drilling more holes hence why the rust has really started to attack your arches, then clean the inside of the arch lips out and stick some underseal on there 8-)

Sounds good. So you mean when refixing the kit on, I use those clip style things for the arches?
I did notice the rust coming up when I looked the picture. Not good. I'm not very good with this sort of thing, but it's about time I learned gonna need a couple says off work :lolz:
Any ideas on getting the screws out? I'm guessing a lot of wd40 and some gentle persuasion.. ?

No joy, I can see canister type things that are a little to far down to reach, but there are no pipes of any kind like that to be seen near the mani area. just been out so the bay is hot lol didn't want to fiddle around to much it just dosen't look like whats in you picture. unless its further down and cant be seen from the top of the car?
