5 call outs?? Thats rubbish! Didnt realise they were cheeky enough to limit the number of call outs with the policy. Im with RAC but have never had to call them out.

Sister broke down the other week and they took her from leeds to north wales so that wasnt too bad. Was wierd tho coz they didnt even bother looking at her car, just turned up with a flat back lorry and put the car on it. For all they knew it could have been a tiny problem and they went to all that expense!

Tell me about it, when i got the letter I was like WHAAAAT? Fair enough i've just lost my Card anyway so any further call outs would be difficult.. But ? 5? and you have the cheek to say you'll charge me £98 for each call out from here on? When I paid like £70 for the year?

What a pointless rant :)

Strange, my lecturer mentioned the same thing today. Today in college I learnt about steering systems and about tyrez 'n' rimz.

And I went direct...thats what made it more expensive.

Rubbish pic.

Only couple of minor problems:

Theres a hiss from the injection, Im guessing its just a loose hose or a hole somewhere so I'm guesing I'm not getting any advantage from the injection.

The alloys are missung the bolt covers, makes it look cheapy.

And someone keyed it today!!! :x :x :x

Apart from these it's perfect and I love it I love it I love it!!!

[EDIT] Can't get the image working, added link.

Looks really good. But I suppose a mondeo would have done?

I must admit I did giggle when you said it got keyed. Not because it got keyed, that's crap and I'd hate it. It's just.. On the first day you own it? How bad is Scotland? Lol

Hissing eh.. It's the beggining.

The hissing is coming from below the spark plug cable area, on the right hand end of the cables. As if it's coming from the radiator fluid tube, but isn't. I can feel a thin flow of air coming from somwhere, I will get my lecturers to take a look at it.

Ha ha, my city is pretty bad, I'm in the centre of the flood areas too, so with the sand bags everywhere people seem to think we are in vietnam or something and Chavs have devolved to monkeys, competing with testosterone.

I'll start a members gallery thread after I get back from Amsterdam and start doing stuff to it. Gonna start soon with the cheap stuff; detagging it, focus repeaters etc.

Then my first thing is going to be after I have collected all of the parts, then do it on the hydraulic lifts at college. I'll get 35mm Drop GMax suspension kit, 17" rimz and the 2nd hand 300mm brake discs/calipers etc. (Could someone list all of the components I need to hunt down for the 300mm disc set up, and do they fit both front AND back? There's so many threads describing it and so many different versions that I just want someone to do one summed up version)

By the way, I posted it on the thread but nobody has seen it. I want the FSI stickers and I can see where to get them from, but I also want the big half-car length sticker, where do I get that from?

the hissing might be the rubber tube under your coil pack, iirc its a breather pipe that goes from your block to the sandwich plate on the inlet/head

give that a try as they tend to perish, does the car run ok apart from that hiss?

the small stickers can be bought from ebay on the stickied thread in the general section, but the big car length ones were iirc custom made by happypaul and his mate( who's a member on here, drayton i think) so you wont find them for sale unless you ask someone to make it for you ;)

Ah ok, I'll find out more and see what comes of it.

The car runs ace, it needs a new gear box because everything is a bit loose and the clutch is very very deep but the biting point is only about an inch into it so I need to move my whole leg to change gear, but you'd expect this from a 14 year old car. I recon it's running great but I can't really compare it to anything...it sounds gorgeous, very basey. It revs fine, no jilts or bumps. Theres no smoke or steam, no leaks of any kind, no rattling or rubbing. Theres lots of creaking, but like I said, old car. And you can only hear the hiss with the bonnet open, I just hope that I get more power from the car when it's fixed, it's powerful now but not how I expected it to be, it feels heavy and non-reactive.

And thats poo about the stickers, I wanted a black ones from wheel to wheel. I will defo get small ones though when the windows get tinted.

I have just ordered Orion Smoked focus repeaters, the more I look at that photo, the more orange and round the indicator gets. And if I get what I plan to get (35mm drop + 17"s) Do you recon it'll need much archwork done? I want to get new arches and side skirts anyway but should I look for specific ones to fit specific dimensions or is it a 1-size-fits-most case? Pretty much, I don't wanna spend £800 on a suspension kit and rims if they wont fit together.

on the clutch pedal there is a little White round thing on the arm, (well there should be) twist that and it should change the biting point.
As for the rest once you get it lowered and that it handle and feel much nicer. I said beote with 17"s you get splash guard rubbing on full lock but that's just plastic, you can cut it away or let it wear down, but when you lower it I have no idea. Fiesta-turbo (sorry bad word) has a guide on fitting 17"s and the work that needs to be done.

So... quick rundown of todays events. I was caught on my phone whilst driving (Idiot, the only time I have done it aswel, sods law!) which is my second set of 3 points in my 2 year (6 point) probation period. turns out though, the plod that got me for speeding never put 3 points on my license... so thats being investigated.

My engine was clunking and clanging on the way home from college today so when I got home I had a look around, whilst doing so trying to find the ever so elusive hiss. I had the air filter apart along with other items to no prevail, same sounds once everything was checked, cleaned and back on. So naturally I checked the dipstick.. no oil. that topped up it is now running great, still a hiss but I'll get it one day.

I got my black focus repeaters, they are now on and I detagged it. Everything is niiice (apart from the fact that I may not have my license in 6 weeks time)

Anyway, I had fun with my phone, looky.
