yea gona paint the exhaust and mani and inlet soon and get them on, then build it up piece by piece once ive found another job! :doh:

gona have to modify the 4 branch thou to fit my lambda sensor in.

The ashley exhausts all painted up and ready to go on now. only thing is its grey now. bloody halfords paint!! says its black wen its grey!

just gota modify the mani 4 the lambda and get um poly mounts then fit it.

also found a gasket kit in the garage from my dads old xr2! so theres a few brand new gaskets and seals in there which mite fit mine, should come in handy wen rebuilding the engine.

Looking good mate! I think thats the paint I used on my rear drums on the si. Is it the halfords high temp stuff? Put it on my rear drums to get a nice black finish and ended up with grey :x :doh:

yer thats the stuff lol

Started stripping the inlet manifold down and paint bits 2day. removed the fuel rail and injectors and cleaned them, cleaned the pressure reg and cleaned the throttle body and manifold.

i randomly found a tin of renault capisco red (sumin like that lol) so painted the fuel rail and throtttle cable bracket and also gave my caliper carriers a quick blow over 2! i have to say the fuel rail looks the nuts! i well happy with myself.

It dont look 2 bad tbh mate, if i get time before i put it on i will get sum black paint 4 it.

so now i just need to paint the inlet up black with red EFI, put it all back together then i wana polish the throttle body, then whack it on the 1.4. see what sort of difference it makes.

yep.

i was very wrong!! it is loud, not stupidly loud but pretty damn loud. sounds awesum thou. a nice deep sort of rasp, pops well 2!! 10x better than the longlife, goes a bit better aswel.
its different to the longlife thou, it goes queiter at top end, loud mid range. i like it lots thou. blowing a bit at the front thou, sort that 2morrow or sumin.

pain in the arse to fit the mani thou, starter had to cum off and a stubborn bolt didnt want 2 undo, causing us to round it off and we ended up welding a bolt to it,which snapped, so then we welded a nut over the bolt,which worked! mani bolts came out piece of pee thou thank god!.

then we had to cut the lambda boss off my old downpipe and weld it into my ashley mani which my mate sorted perfectly.

only thing is it points down a tad at the tip. but not to noticeable.

and i duno y i painted it! it just burnt off as soon as i started it! :doh:
