Hi guys, heres another stupid question,

i'll cut a long story short,
my si was a 1.6 then i fitted the rs1800 engine in it,
then fitted twin 40 carbs, sucked in a bolt from the engine bay,
this smashed the rs1800 lump up
Fitted escort gti lump with rs1800 cams and inlet still using rs1800 ecu,

The escort gti engine standard exhaust manifold has no EGR system on it, it just had the provisions on it
my rs1800 exhaust manifold had EGR then i removed it with blanking plugs

heres the question,

is there any difference between the rs1800 manifold and escort GTI manifold with regards to performance flow port size etc..

and should i fit the rs1800 exhaust manifold instead of using the escort gti manifold

really dont mean to sound odd here. measure outlet on the head then measure the intake on both manifolds shud tell you which one fits. im not sure but i fink ther the same but jus to be sure for urself measure them cos iv found its better to kno ur self than go on wot u hear. if they are the same see which is bigger on the downpipe end and use that one. personally tho if they are the same i wud use the rs one as its been fitted to the down pipe previously hasnt i t? hope that helps pal

4 branch is alot better than both if your putting twin carbs u might aswell put a 4 branch oin

That's pretty cool, i wish i owned a welder and the skills required for perfect welds lol,

on the subject of the rs1800 manifold versus the escort gti one, it seems that the escort manifold is probably better than the EGR removed rs1800 one as there are now holes in the manifold where the egr pipes used to be which probably dont help with the flow of gasses

so i'll probably leave the escort manifold on for now,
