And got a 2.0 tb but confused as its smaller than the 1.6 & rs1800 tb i have

2.0 above 1.6 below
And I shall be ordering one of these soon

hi mate got it off ebay for about £60

Well the XR2i failed

Loads off welding needs doing to sills, some bits it has been welded before and the welds have come away so need redoing. Also failed headlamps one insecure and both have too high beam

should get it sorted over the next few days and retested mon

Well today started by sorting out rust on sills for mot and this is what was found underneath loads of body filler

oh dear...






So after much of interior removed lots of angle grinding and scrapping started weld it and getting it solid again





This was just the drivers side other side only has one bit which will be done tomorrow

More progress

Started with passenger side rear sill





Then did hole in footweel n/s front wheel arch



And finally did bit on chassis leg inside n/s front arch



And that is that thank god

alot of hard work but well worth it!

Well over the next few months I shall be getting a few bits sorted for the xr turbo

Recently got a double capicity intercooler but I might keep that for when I turbo the Si next year

Stage 3 head
Piper 285tcam kit
165 or stage 1 chip of some kind
I might at some point change bottom end for 1.8 zvh but this wont be til next year

Thats the same intercooler that im thinking of getting for my rs turbo

Today i bought a stage 3 head with piper 285t2 cam and ofac 165 chip will post pics up when i get them

Well i've decided i'm not going to use that double capcity intercooler as i wasn't happy with how it fitted, it sits wonky and raditor sits too close to turbo when fitted was 2mm away from it also turns out its an airtec one so gonna look to find a front mounted one
This is an example of how it looks when fitted this is not my car

Looking really good mate! Shame about the 'cooler, i've seen a couple of them fitted that looked fine, not slanted or anything. What make is yours?

Also, cheers for pointing me in the direction of motorsportworld for parts, saved a fortune using them to get the parts for my frst

Its an Airtec one although is identical to Pace the ones that fit the best are ones that have had the brackets cut off but then its only held in place by boost pipes

I've been using motorsportworld for a long time now have always been pleased with service

Should be fitting the Stage 3 head at weekend
