just got a set of mondeo v6 brakes with everything there (calipers, carriers, pads, discs, flexis) off an s reg mondeo (mk2?)

just wondered how do i fit em on my si? coz they dont fit straight on do they?

Drill the hub holes out to 12mm.

Space the discs out 3mm.

Might have to cut down the caliper bolts to stop them fouling the disc, but you'll see.

Bleed them up.

Done.

is it that simple? my mate sed about spacing the caliper out? and using cossie 4x4 discs so they dont need be spaced out?

The V6 brakes fit.

Space the DISC out 3mm. Just bolt the caliper up.

Done it plenty of times on fiesta escorts and pumas

difference is calipers are securely bolted to sumin whereas discs aint.

golf mk4 discs arnt held on by anything well the ones at work ive done arnt so i dont see why the disc spacing is a problem its only 3mm aswell mate thats nothing do your wheel nuts up tight and your away the day after you do them check the wheel nuts as the washers might have comprsed a bit more

condsider a set of escort disks which are 3mm or more less (front to back depth) that should avoid the spacing issue.

i think its silly using the mondeo disks, you're gonna have 3mm less thread on the wheel studs, dont see where the need to bodge things on are, not just on about you dan im on about everyone whos done it, it just seems needless risks.

I dont mind what way i do it tbh. its a lot cheaper to do it using mondeo discs. and supose 3mm isnt much considering the size of the studs.

ive bought the washers to do it now anyway, and painted the calipers and carriers red.
