ah god of knowledge, how about you STFU

the honda engine was/is a good engine, it was/is a general design for hondas to have high revving engines ( i say general as they do a diesel or two) and also, the 16v helps with the revving. And the high revs is a feature of vtec, as tbh with no torque, it needs to be raped to move really :) (and before you start i have driven a vtec)

An RS1600i can rev to 7500rpm with its "old knackered cvh" :shock: which is an 8v and 8v's don't tend to rev as high or develop top end power as 16v engines do

I didn't and won't say the CVH is the best engine in the world, as that is untrue. :rolleyes:

However, to dismiss them completely, or slate them in the manner which you seem to do with any ford engine :rolleyes: either makes you an arrogant prick :) or slightly forgetful of the fact that a CVH turbo is very tuneable per £. It has been proved before :nerd:

Hence the spec on that 1.6 with 320bhp quite impressive, with the torque, for an "old knackered engine"

But still, i must bow down as you clearly are the god of all cars :lolz:

i'll suggest it at Ford fair next year to the people with RST's that they want to scrap their "knackered" 200bhp CVH's and put a B16 in :rolleyes:

oh and the original point of the post was i believe about tuning a cvh :thumbsup:

and this is a cvh turbo thread :rolleyes:

the main weaklink on a CVH turbo is usually either the BC gearbox letting go or people whacking 500000psi through it without adjusting the fueling! :lol:

i like driving a CVH car, thats my personal choice, my xr3i was lovely to drive, and i may be getting another one :hsugh: :halo: in the future :)

i know exactly what you mean mate, it is getting a bit old now :rolleyes: . i think there really good engines for the cost, very easy to tune and still surprise alot of the newer "better" cars. :thumbsup:

there were plenty of cvh's running strong at ford fair, and despite dubious timing gear :rolleyes: S2's were running 7.07 0-60 runs with plenty of wheelspin :halo: and short shifting :)

personally to me, a cvh turbo exhaust note or even na is pretty sweet 8-)

thats a 200bhp FRST

but cossie fuel pump is good
195 chip
exhaust
induction kit
-31 actuator
t3 turbo (standard FRST T2 isn't great power wise but no lag!)
beige injectors
kent cam and followers
ported head maybe
pistons

and a goood set up!

i'm getting carried away now :red:

but you will need an uprated clutch and a standard box won't handle 200bhp

RS Baz's stage 2 box (250 bhp) was £700 i think

i think thats a good spec though :)

remember the transmission is important, a 170bhp RST lump with a good gearbox and clutch will be better then a 200bhp one blowing gearboxes every 5 mins :thumbsup:

you also need beigh injectors,

as for your gearbox, an escort turbo lsd will be your best bet, they can be had for around £100 these days!!

you will need an intercooler, and a better radiator too.

will also be a good bet to upgrade your brakes to deal with all the extra power!! cossie calipers are the norm but theres quite a few other different set ups that others on here have found and made to work!!

actually the beiges, cossie pump, chip, arnt needed unless your going for a T3 turbo, in which case they are needed to match up for the power.. :doh:

if staying with the T2 then the above wont be needed!! :thumbsup:
