Well.

This week the engine got dropped out.

Painted up some bits.
Painted the engine bay black.
Fitted 1.1 gearbox.
Fitted new timing belt
Fitted new waterpump.
Fitted PAS rack.
Fitted RS2000 Rear Discs.
Fitted Escort Brake Servo.
Had alot of problems with tiny little things going wrong as they do.
Re-fitted it all back in.
Ran engine after filling it with coolant etc etc
Running on 3 cylinders, changed a spark plug and it was fine!
10 minutes later bang bang bang.
Bottom end had gone.
Got very pissed off.
Removed 2.0ltr engine from marks red van.

Pickup will be having the 2.0ltr engine fitted tomorrow, which has been dyno'd at 133bhp(standard!), this is mattyboy's old engine
It won't be standard, its going to have ashley racing manifold and the new daft exhaust.
HO inlet.
and air filter till I change something on it to be abit different (if it goes to plan)

So hello more torque, hello more power, hello working engine.

RIP RS1800 engine, you did well till about 100k miles, and shat yourself after I replaced the other parts


On another note, It is also in Performance Ford Mag write up of FITP.
Hopefully I'll be at Ford Fair in this. If it happens to go all tits up I'll be in a mad rush to get my Nato Green Escort Van TD'd up just to go in.

unlucky but good work on the new lump

2.0ltr Zetec Engine is in.

Exhaust on tomorrow as I was deciding on standard downpipe/cat or the Ashley Manifold as I have an MOT coming up.

Bleed up the rest of the brakes, and fit 2 track rod ends as mine are dodgy and make my steering weird.

Hopefully it all goes well... I really need the car as I'm back to work Monday after 2 weeks off

Shame I gotta run it on the RS1800 ecu tho

Well I picked up my new inlet gaskets last night.

They will be fitted tonight along with another ISCV.
It was just ideling enough the other night so its looking like its nearly sorted out!

So hopefully the 2.0ltr will be running enough for me to use the pickup once again!

Got a 2.0ltr ECU on its way ready for the middle of next week sometime, and will be getting an MOT next weekend hopefully ready in time for Ford Fair.



Another note, I also fitted Cobra Bucket seats. And have been given a new lovely CB arieal as a pigeon snapped mine in half the other week


Just excited to drive it again, now with more torque/power, powersteering, better seats, rally slag exhaust, better brakes, better clutch, and the 1.1 gearbox

paul: i had a 1.1 as a second car

100 in 5th is just over 4000rpm

70mph is 3000rpm in 5th
