Hi Guys

Thought i'd post here as well,

2.0 Series 2 from mondeo into previously 1.6 si series 2 1995 fez.

I have taken the advice here and pulled out the system from the exhaust manifold. And fitted the ford blanking plugs. For the remainder of the fitment to the inlet manifold, i have just joined the two holes up with a piece of the piping that was used. I have as yet not removed the black box in the n/s wheel arch or the valve at the bulkhead. Just wanted to know the best method for isolating the system. Can you just strip it all away and leave the connecters un plugged???? Or is it more involved.

She started first time for me, but was not picking up at all just dying after a few moments. Realised i had not connected the MAF so did - better but still way off being right, Any suggestions much appreciated!!!!

yes but that only really talks about the ex manifold, but thanks. Looking to understand how to leave the rest of the system, loom etc.

u haven ot took the egr solenoid of have u on the bulk head when u remove the egr theres a pipe on it that needs blanking ortherwise it will suck in air thats where your problem may be

No i have not removed anything as yet, just trialled un plugging the looms, so your suggestion is to leave the two (solenoid and pulse air box) connected to the ecu, and left hooked up, just blank off the end of the hose that would have gone to the inlet manifold?

And yes at present it is dangling. Will go try that just now....

Ok plugged the vacum pipe to the solenoid on the bulkhead, much better but still miles from right. Will try the method sugested here to clean the MAF maybe?? seems very bad idling.

Also and more worryingly it is getting extremly hot and incredibly quickly also. Why would that be?? the water pump is pumping ok as far as i can see. Has plenty of oil in it. Any bright ideas?????? :cry: :cry:

found myself swapping injectors over to the 2.0 ones today from the mondeo and finally she seems much happier. MOT monday guys wish me luck!!
