Just to rule it out, my rad and fan on the MK3 pickup was nicked from my MK3.5 RS1800 (as I am using RST rad/fan on that one day) - and no difference in slots etc :)

cant for the life of me think what that is :red:

i'll check tomorrow and see what is it, iirc the fan doesn't attach to that other than those locating slots and bolting to the front panel above the rad

no im not dead and neither is project fezz

1st up,i needed a iscv

Image

Image

Image

next up was the timing (using my new timing tools)

Image

Image

Image

looking at this pic it looks likethe cam timing is off going by the white marks, but they're setup bang on TDC

also looks like the belt is a little loose, how ever when u rotate the engine this tightens up but goes back to its "lose" state after returning to TDC, the tensioner cant go anu tighter so im hoping this is normal

Image

all the covers on :)

Image

the eagle eyed amongst you will notice that i still have to change to the smaller oil filter, this is getting done tomorrow, also hoping to get the engine mounted tomorrow, may not happen though as we cant get a hoist till the weekend, but we're gona see if we can do it without 1, without wrecking the engine/gearbox and ourselfs in the process

BIG SHOUT OUT TO ONSLACK for the TPS and gearbox mounts

hi dude

i ckecked it 3 different ways, a tad OTT but never mind

1, placed a long screwdriver on the piston head and rotate till 'driver at its highest position

2, checked with mark on sump

3, inserted bolt from the timing kit into the thingy by the cranksensor, then rotate till the crank hits the pin

Image

all 3 corrospond

the difference between a si cradle and "normal" fiesta cradle

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

fitted the gearbox to the cradle

Image

Image

Image

lined up the gearbox to the engine

Image

Image

Image

Image

problem was, because the gearbox was fitted to the cradle it was a nightmare to line up to the engine, so the gearbox was removed from the cradle and fitted to the engine, then the mounts fitted, then the cradle

the car was then lifted

Image

Image

Image

after a bit of jiggery-pokery (removing the rear mount) the engine was under

Image

the engine is now bolted into place, all nuts torqued etc, next up..............................................................the wiring :0

so im fooking snookered, i do have a couple of plugs but i dont wanna plug them in and hope for the best incase it screws something up, another concern is this:

Image

Image

what the fook are these wires for! they sit between the wiper motor (which i havent got wired up yet as i cant remove the cover! :x ) and the inlet manifold.
