friday evning im off out to meet some mates and im sat in traffic, the car just cuts out will turn over but not fire, i push it round the corner unplug the MAF and it drives home okay like that

so i give it a clean and drive up to Rochdale (130 miles) pick the Mrs up nip tesco and it wont start! no fuel no spark AA man tows me back to hers and reccons its the crank sensor


a few hours later and it starts okay :doh:

and its been okay back today just sat at 60 though






can the heat be effecting anything? the other thing i thought of if it is crank sensor, my clutch is slipping in 1st will the dust off that be bunging the sensor up?


and where is the sensor AA man nor me could find it :doh: :doh:

MAF, ISCV need cleaning as a must.

Check your plugs condition, and plug gaps.

Crank sensor is easy to replace.

whats the ISCV??

and any idea where the crank sensor is?? the AA chap couldnt find it and when he checked on his laptop all it told him was it needed togo to a grage for that although he wanted to find it and give it a clean see ifit sorted

its not starting again tonight :doh: :doh: i turn the ignision on and the light by the clock lights up solid red for a few seconds and goes out, the same happens when i turn the ignision off ..... and the pump doesnt prime

The pump doesnt prime at all when turning the ignition??

Check the fuses mate, if its not priming no wonder its cutting out / not starting

the crank sensor is on the front right hand side of the engine and its quite hard to see with the egr pipes in the way (little pipes coming from exhaust)
and its half way down the engine

the led light seems ok as its suppost to go out after a few seconds and yes you may hae to take the egr rubbish off or undo a few bolts and persuade it to move so you can get to the sensor
