Reshelled an si into a fiesta quartz and tonight was time to attempt to start it for the first time. Its using a 1.1 fuel pump and tank,1.6si loom and engine etc and turn the key and bugger all.Pump doesn't prime

I checked the fuel cut off switch in passenger footwell but its in the pressed in down position so thats fine,Even tapped it to release the spring and repressed it but nothing. The imobiliser light comes on and then dissapears fully as it should do so the PATS isn't screwing up as for a minute I thought I had mixed up my PATs modules.

Disconnected the fuel pump plug and pulled it back into the car.Tested my old si fuel pump against the battery and it works fine so plugged it into the loom....NOTHING


I'm annoyied. Any advice?

take it the car was an injection to start with . okau thats the silly bit out the way. unplug the pump again the top 2 wires on the plug run the pump. the 2 or 3 underneath..i think ones spare i cant remember. run the sender. make sure thats being fed...fuses...relays..bound to be something simple

Well the pump in the tank on the car atm is a 1.1 pump.I think thats injection lol not a clue.

won't a 1.1 be single point injection? not sure

the pump on my 106 wont prime. it works fine though, as its either a dodgy earth or corroded connection so I'm just going to live wire it to the ignition, might be worth a try?

easiest way to tell...does it have a filter attached to the bulkhead? all petrol injections had them there...if not.. theres no pump in the tank...or if there is it will be a low pressure one

I'm going to swap it out for the 1.6 pump anyway now.Might aswell.

Swapped out the fuel pump relay and still no change. Fitted the 1.6si pump in the tank and still have the same problem. wired the pump to a spare battery inside the car so it was on a constant live and it pumps fine but the car still wont fire up. Tested the coilpack for a live and it does have a live.

I'm loosing the will to live.
