one reason why i scrapped my ZT plans was after i noticed i was going to be paying some big ££ on parts

so i thought i'd buy a car which had to potential to handle the power properly

best bit is the bank dont own my car

least you dont have an expensive paper weight at the mo

imo i'd got with the puma lump, with the weight your car is it'll give many things a run for their money, they way you will still have some ££ to play with to further improve the brakes and suspension

imo no point having loads of power if you cant put it on the tarmac

well the bank only own 2/3 of my car

or even better just upgrade the suspension and brakes further before you do engine work

take my advise on this one....UPGRADE YOUR BRAKES BEFORE YOUR ENGINE MATE!!! i added 100+bhp to my fiesta from standard and left the brakes standard! its not health, safe or wise only just upgraded mine and my god i feel so much safer


Id also go puma in all honesty, cheaper to start with and you could get some good gains...or even a focus 2ltr...have you looked at that ot even st170 on a five speed box (will fit better in your bay)

i did look at the st170 engine but its same size as the st150 exactly the same engine just apparently the st170 has bigger cams or something, but again still be well expensive.

I got brakes on my car now that arnt that bad if done track days with then they dont seem to cook them selfs or anything so they should be ok hopfully!!

Think i will go puma lump easier. More of a simple fit to

yeah, puma engine mounts in the exact same position only thing that you really have to do thats kindda hard is put new connections on the existing wiring loom

should be one thing i have literally just thought of though will i have to get a puma exhaust system or a fiesta cause im thinking about the underneath the shape of the pipe may be different ?

you will need to use the fiesta one mate and mate it to the puma down pipe which should pretty much be direct!

I would say get an exhaust of a zetec-s tho as it will have a bigger bore than 1.25 which will restrict it

I was looking at the 4-2-1 miltek system but im guessing will have to buy the puma manifold and down pipe and then the fiesta underneath pipe. Im going to re build the engine before i put it in aswell so ill have to run it in at least then i know what the engine is and whats its capable of and realiability wise, ill also add the ported head cams etc etc whilst im going along aswell.
