:red: :red: Im always one to give benefit of the doubt with most things hense i say do you have any pics of said engine & car. any spec? i mean for such power you would need uprated shafts, clutch, box, dependant on block, conrods, pistons etc

but i do think the top speed is optimistic fella :) :thumbsup: if im honest


anyway i want pics or :gtfo: :rolleyes:

i'm just pessimistic as it has taken 20 years for a S2 to hit 171mph :hmm:

getting one past 150 is an achievement, and 160 is freaking good going but 170 is rare and nutty! :lol:

if its a standard box, no way would you have over 200bhp and 145ish mph

lol i had a stage 3 box with a quaiffe LSD. it wasnt standard had custon driveshafts for the car as the standard ones from the original owner kept bending and snapping i got a quick spec here

2.1 ZVH conversion
zetec block
forge pistons
balanced crank
lightened flywheel
modified cylinder head
felpro head gasket set
t4 turbo
285T2 camshaft
kent followers
Custom drive shafts
APR rod bolts
vernier pully
ap racing clutch
stage 3 box with quiffe LSD

Thats all that i can remember off by heart though

this waqs still running the mfi system i spoke to norris motorsport about this when i had the car just generally asking when i had to change it and he just said either turn the boost down for abit or get it changed asap as 320bhp its seriously on its last legs sort of thing but i didnt manage to have time to get the new cossie management system on :cry:

BUT running that power on the mfi system is also dangerous as its not designed for it obviously

Im sorry mate i still doubt it 100% and its bugging me now...your power figures are way to optomistic

inlet wont manage it for one
cross over wont push enough air through
all the tubing is not sufficient enough with a big enough bore!
no way can the standard bosch metering unit register enough air

I mean look at the spec of sunnys zetec which pulled 444hp and 385ft ibs torque

hes running a 2.1 zetec turbo now and running the ultimate gearbox being a straight cut dog box

with a huge spec list
2.1 zetec turbo T4 hybrid turbo with 360 degree thrust bearing, Low compression pistons, K&N Induction kit, - 34 actuator, HKS dump valve, Power Engineering cam, Superchip, Samco coolant and turbo hoses, braided hosing, lightened and balanced bottom end, Pace chargecooler, alloy radiator, high-pressure header tank, swirl pot, Baileys breather system, Bosch black injectors, Cosworth fuel pump, Optmia battery, 150 amp alternator, HKS electronic boost conrtol, various chrome parts, vernier pulley, 3bar MAP sensor. transmission consisting of Uprated Quaife gearbox with straight-cut gears, Uprated breather system, Custom gear ratios, AP Racing clutch.
Scorpion full system with 4" outwardly rolled tailpipe.
and only after constant changing the spec has he managed 178mph being the fastest fiesta! and thats efi in a lighter car...i just cant see it!

do you have any other pics looking down the engine bay as well i.e so you can see the turbo and block in the photo at all i will be able to tell what block then.

when he was running the 2ltr bottom end with cvh top end... overbored to 2.1 he managed 275bhp on 20psi that was efi as well on cossie management.

How did you manage all of this???? sorry my friend i think you are way out with your figures!

same with the 247bhp n/a puma engine! utter crap...i know my zetec engine better than any...you can even get a 1.8 or 2ltr zetec without a massive snail bolted to the front!

Only one zetec i know of has managed such crazy power n/a and 90% of the stuff on that engine he calculated by himself as he is an engineer and to be honest a don with this stuff! hes running perfect bodies with single coil packs, stand of injectors and its literally all one of a kind...perfectly fitted in an onion :)

I think you need to recalculate your figures dude! :thumbsup:

Im sorry fella please dont think we are having a dig and taking the piss but a lot of us have made these engines our lives for fu*k sake and know with out a doubt these figures just are not "fez"able :P without serious nutty work with one of mods and custom built pretty much everything! i could say techincally my engine is running the following:

2ltr zetec conversion with deep ecu = 132bhp
s/s exhaust = 12bhp
blitz air filter = 12bhp
rs1800 = 8bhp
de-cat = 8bhp

and that would give me a 172bhp zetec engine but in reality ive done alot more than that like replace 90% of my sensors, tried to smooth all airflow into body, clean all ports out, gearbox with close ratio, platinum spark plugs, loads and loads of little things...and im running approx 142 - 145 bhp and thats high for standard internals and that was proven with a graph in my old si and my little mk2 would kill my si all day long, in fact leave it in the dust ive got spec list for a 170bhp ERST with graph and thats not far of spec above and still the mk2 would leave it, i dont think its cuz ive now got more bhp its weight etc

i think ive said all i have to say on this...again apologise for rant mate but i work my arse of every day to get the best performance, acceleration, handling i can on my car and bogus figures are really annoying when you do so much work.

Just another thing...with that much power your struggling with a t4 as the cossie would be ready to upgrade with that power! also it would get extremely hot your bay so would need heat wrap otherwise the bottom of the shiny cross over would been more dull in colour due to heat it would soak up!

320 came from dyno, i may have some looking down in to the engine bay.things like turbo mfi system was all due to change, just to let everyone know im not here to start any sort of argument :(, 2.0 lrt bottom end with the 2.1ZVH top i had the Unfortunatly a van pulled out in front of me beginning of december and wrote the car off photos also below.

Hey fella as i said im not trying to start an argument with you at all! and i think the escort is stunning mate it really is and i can see you got a zetec bottom end on there and if you came on here and said its 230 etc i would say fair play that cool as hell and i love the car but there just seems to be flaws in your story every where for example 2.0 lrt bottom end with the 2.1ZVH top you mean 1.6 cvh top with 2ltr bottom end. and the figure is so high! have you got a photo of the dyno :)

again mate im not arguing with you at all and meilack isnt either, i love this forum because 99% of everyone gets on and you only ever get friendly banter but thats a huge figure fella...and the 178 is just a not happening at all!

honesty will get you everywhere...like i said if you came on and said hey i was running 230 bhp i would say hello yes i love it when you say 320 with no clear graph and without an obvious huge spec list i just cant see it happening

like i said sunny was runing that spec above and managed 275 at 20psi thn up'd it later to get the 444bhp but again efi and insane box etc!

and mate i ain't starting an argument, one sold on ebay for £7000, with 320bhp and it had alot and i mean alot more work then your car :)

examples:

it had 8 injectors
huge turbo
area six exhaust manifold
a sick inlet manifold
stand alone management etc

like Sk8trm said, 230bhp would be more respectable, and maybe 150mph

Your RS looked mint, shame about the demise :cry:
