300mm Front Brakes on the cheap! (stuff expensive cosworth)
*warning* - *minimum of 16" wheels needed*

Right as you know there are plenty of conversions for brakes, as most ford items fit onto all the models with a little bit of modification.

Yes everyone bums Cosworth Brakes and ST brakes, and are sheep. Never willing to find something which fits.

So here we go.

MK3 Mondeo Brake Calipers.. £20 from the scrapyard.
MK3 Mondeo Pads.. £14 brand new
Focus ST170 Discs.. £35 brand new


Drill the 2 bolt holes on the hubs out to 12mm.
Shorten the bolt used from the Mondeo hubs.
Fit.
Bleed up.
Job done.
300mm front brakes



No spacing required unlike most other conversions, no messing, and most importantly.. no expensive bloody bits because its "cosworth" or "st"

Just about to get £45 + vat worth of spacer plates made for hte other mk2 conversion, but obviously this would be easier

How sure are you that there is not goign to be need for spacer and that there is no rubbing?????

Even on full lock?

My mk2 mondeo 260mm disks, and their calipers were rudbbing each other up the wrong way with no spacers, Ah well Followed your advice and spent £70 on pattern discs and pads for st170 and got a set of mk3 calipers from s yard. All good!

Thoroughly reccommended.

Found out if anyone wants to know you can use the mk2 mondeo calipers with a 260mm Escort Disc which has a lesser front to back measurment therfore allowing for the 3mm.

The OZ are 16" and slipped over with spare. Working fine, though i think the master cylinder should really get uprated no doubt -

But i am thinking there good enough for me. Plus they aint even bedded in the new pads yet so only gonna get better i guess
