Yep my cars been off the road for last couple of days now!

Was having abit of fun with a cooper s down some backs roads got in front of him then going in to a corner i pressed the brake the and brake pedal pushed my foot back off so i pressed it again it went rock solid so had to use the handbrake and try and slow down with that then ended up nearly drifting around the corner!! Speed limit obviously

So drove home extremly slowly ( quite literally ) had a look and my discs have cracked fromall the drill holes to the edge but they have cracked the whole way through the discs not just surface literally cracked, i then drove down my road to see how hard i can sort of push them and then they decided to shatter in stead

So now i have no car untill my new discs turn up, but i managed to get them for free

tell me about it, at least the company was ok about it though there sending me more straight out should have them today or tomorrow may be abit late for today now but ive asked for just grooved now.

Yeah, I've seen a few people now who've had the same problem with drilled, just seems to weaken the discs too much over the benefit of of the cooling it provides. Sure, people will have no probs, but your case highlights the fact there's always the possibility of the discs cracking. And yes, I know discs can crack whether they're drilled or not before anyone pipes up

I understand what your saying problem with drilled and grooved is your taking chunks out the disc which every bhit of metal you take of weakens the discs then just cracks.

I've heard that if you buy grooved and drilled then somehow melt the grooves and the drill holes melt them then they should be fine but not 100% sure if this is true or not as the melting puts the strengh back in to the holes

Not heard that to be honest. I'm sure they've probably got better at making them and keeping their strength, just depends on what you buy!

Anyways, glad you didn't do any damage, didn't think they'd become that ineffective though!

was quite lucky, i did a club called under 17's when i was 14 then obvioulsy finished when i w2as 17 and this included skid pan etc etc driving cars from my dads caterham to parcel force artic lorries, and i think if i didnt do this club then to be honest i dont think i would have managed to get the car round the corner so a big thanks to that club for teaching me what they taught me
But at least nothing major happened thats how i think about it

Brembo... well i doubt they would be real ones, cos they wont make them for the fiesta, plus if they did, the disks would be about £300 lol

Brembo do make discs for fiesta's lol you just have to ring them as they dont list them on their website or in demon tweeks

they are cool my dad had the r500 aswell which was pretty cool, yeah at the club you had to have instruction basically like a driving lesson kindda thing you have to have 3 then if your good enough you get moved up a grade grades are 5 4 3 2 1 and x 5 being the worst x being the best, i was starting to go towards my x which consists of you had to do lorry driving track day driving skid pan first aid it was extremly high, grade 1 was basically doing your driving test on the real roads x was same but to a bigger extreme had to do lots more!

Round track i drove dads caterham, bros 770bhp alfa, dads ferrari, grandads aston db5 and then couple of other things bit more boring but diesel ford focus my alfa 75 and generally other bits and bobs really.

With this i only had 15mins driving lesson took my test first time past with 5 minors

If you have kids etc i would highly reconnmend this club, bit of money involve but its all worth it in the end!
