ST170

Was chasing my mate back from east grinstead other night hes got an st170 with the rs body kit in grey on it i pulled away from him as soon as i hit 80 he very slowly started pulling away. i did only have one seat in the car and nothing else and my cars running 94bhp but im just slightly confused. i can blitz zetec-s to 60 but a st170?? how heavy are they

At that sort of speed your weight wouldn't play as bigger part as some might have you believe. I'm guessing he can't drive or wasn't trying.

FST 170 weighs 1200kg ish. You'd need another 50bhp before you could play with it properly.

I think you're mate has a badged up 1.6 focus as an ST. I raced a focus 1.6 in my fiesta mk4 1.4 (94bhp rr'd) and mine only just pull away by about 1cm a second until 70 then it was level.

Must of been a replica.

You're car would need to be under 700kg's to be as fast as an st170.

Think you fiesta is about 920kg's standard but not sure, so you would have had to take
out 250ish kg's of interior

sorry mate my ST Fez has an identical 0-60 time as the ST170, so unless it has a major problem with the engine or it is a rep then he either can't drive fo shiz, or wasn't trying

but when you whack your ST lump in, of course, you will win

I was shocked when I found out how heavy a MK4 Fiesta was at the time

i've seen said ST170 a few times, both when i had my fez and when i got the cossie, been dying to have a play with it for a while

my little fez kept up with an ST150, passenger up, tools(lots of ) in the boot

yet baz flattened it in the S2 and i kept with him in my ST 150

not 100% sure on how much my car weights but i know it does 0-60 in 8.3 seconds!

So then then half a second in it and i weight have the weight

I would have thought the fiesta st would wipe the floor with the focus's cause ive tried having one before but i cant the only new fiesta i can have are the zetec-s

Barry's s2 is basically standard though??? I always wanted to take mine out with him to see what the diffference actualy was!!

me jamie cliffe and baz were flooring it down a dual carriageway, and my car was heaviest

Mods:

S2: Exhaust, Air filter, full throttle gear change (which is the bollocks )

Si: 2.0 Engine Exhaust, Air filter

ST: K+N

and it was identical up through the gears and only above 105mph did i start going past but they knew where to go and i didnt
