hey guys, just purchased another 2.0, both front doors open and lock from the inside but not with the key outside, my m8 originally had the car and they used to work, its a 5dr manual windows. any ideas whats the problem??, i believe its the mechanism inside but what do i change? and will any mk3 fez fit? cheers. :thumbsup:

Get another set of door locks and key off another fiesta. If you want just one key then get the ignition barrel too. Job done.

(they are a pocket prezzie from scrapyards ;) )

my friend had this exact same problem on his escort....

its the barrel...

it slowy gets worn down and then the tumble cannot read the key correctly so it doesnt open....

have to get a new set .....

if u go on ebay theres a company that will manafacture a whole set for like 30-50quid i think
not sure if its ignitin aswell
