It was kind of a joke

Specs wise that is very true, but get a Zetec S with 17000 on the clock for £5k

But as previously admitted the Zetec S is excellent value for what you get in terms of value (running cost, insurance vs speed) I would put the relevant cars in this order (best first)

Zetec S
VTS
ST

I would say that's fair, so yes if you still wish to hump ford buy a Zetec S, with that you could go right down and look at the ka if you really wanted to save money.

and cheers dave, it looks good but a new problem: Paint rippling off on the drivers door handle

so thats my list for ford now:

* Door handle
* Tow Eye
* Rear light to be refittted
* Drivers Side rear speaker needs fixing

although i sovled the speaker problem

kirsty unbeknown to me had left a cd case in the side trim, which was rattling and causing it to sound like the speaker as i had no idea it was there, even got my ford mechanic friend to have a look and he said it was fecked, then kirsty said "oh yeah theres a cd case in there"
