the front tow eye is loose and not sitting properly, and as far as i can work out, i have no idea why so thats added to the list for mr ford.

Confession:

was seriously thinking of doing a trade with my mum and dad were they take the ST and the payments as my mums car and i had the mint escort gti i'd love that car, would be a hit at the shows this year, standard and mint, just needs a jacking point cover but i held back (for now )

just appealed to me more as its an old ford of such, well older then mine and the seating position is lower, rahter then perched

but the ST stays.......for now.......untill it pisses me off again

i do like my old fords though........ no i wasn't looking at S2's on ebay/autotrader

and for the running costs and price of the car i was expecting better in terms of it not falling apart

hench the flexi pipe plan, thats 8bhp as the restirctor goes and its more flowing and even with a standard exhaust and just a flexi and K+N its the ST165 pack

and i would love that conversion but ford want £2444 fitted to keep my warranty in check

To be honest I think it would be silly to go for an old ford now, personally after now owning a newish car I couldn't go back.

As for the build quality for the ST it does seem quite shocking the amount of problems you are having.

I'm with Percy though, I couldn't get an older car again, going down from a T reg to an R reg was totally fine, but L reg sucks. I think a T reg is still new-ish, and then I realise it's not the beginning of the 00's anymore

I think you'll miss the luxury and mostly (not in your case) hassle free joys of owning something newer.

yeah i think i am just pissed off with it

the thing is though, it seems to be just mine maybe its a cursed relationship

i can't remember mole having these issues, my mates one only had a dodgy rear light clip, but i've had tow eye, rear light, speaker and gearbox syncro

maybe i brought a dodgy bugger should have got that red one

the ford dealer is another reason i get annoyed, as they are utter arseholes and about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Apparantly my car never had a gearbox problem, the boss at farnborough said to me they haven't had one in yet, and i was like er yeah you have you twat and they pissed me off with no courtesy car and kerbing my wheel, and the extortionate prices to modify your car for warranty friendly purposes. As mentioned before its £340 to lower it on eibach springs through ford and the springs cost £120

ah cars eh? bloody things

still give it a year and i'll revaluate either stick some more power in the ST or see where i stand on options although i like my small cars

another sticking point in my choice of car is the house, and the fact kirsty and i want our own place at some point so i might actually have to get a slower/sensible car next

if and when you send it back to ford i'd take pic's of it the day before it goes, clean it so that you know where every scratch is etc

send it in, then clean/check it over again once it comes back from them and if there is anything on it this time that wasn't there before then you can go back

give it time with the ST rome wasn't built in a day

its a shame though as mechanically, and driving the car, is really good, i'm impressed with the eagerness of the engine and the handling just the dealers and quality control issues detract from the experience.

i know it should have more power before anyone starts on french alternatives but as a package i think its a good car just a shame mine doesn't like the whole one piece thing
