my mrs parked up on a hill at my moms house, silly girl never leaves it in gear, some how the car has rolled about 10 houses down and smashed into a neighbours car, not much damage to what i can see in the dark but will have to check it out more tomorrow. cannot work out how its happened tho as the handbreak was still on, ive checked the handbreak out and its effective to the point where i can stop the car with it. hopefully it will just be a new wing at the worst and there bolt on. bumper looks like it will go back in no problem!!
pissed off are not the words right now!!!!







our golf just has a few scratches on the back bumper, nothing a quick sand and spray wont fix!!!!

there a lot more understanding than i would be to be fair which is quite worrying, my parents seem to know them quite well tho and have said there not the type to try and pull a fast one in anyway as my mrs doesnt wanna go through the insurance, new wing, £30, halfords spray £10, fitting, me and shells bro. so hopefully not as bad as could be, fingers crossed when we go in the light tomorrow it is as simple as that!!

i knew it wouldnt be as simple as i hoped, fuckers now want to go threw insurance which has really screwed us over as shells excess is waaaay more than the damage will cost to fix, wanker wouldnt even let me clean off the marks so i could see the true extent of the damage as he knows it looks worse than it is, im absolutly raging right now as were gonna have to fork out more in excess than his car is actually worth.

cheers bud, the red one is the car ours hit, its a golf estate, proper nail, worth around £400.. our car has next to nothing really, couple of scratches on the rear bumper but nothing to really worry about!!

the thing thats bugging us the most is that she will loose 7 years no claims and have an ins premium hike next year for the sake of a £30 wing.

when i read they changed their minds and want an insurance job it smacks as they want shot of it and a payout. the fact shells car hit it was the means to an end...sorry to hear you guys are getting screwed over

slight update of sort,
ive been to a vw place by mine that restors old beetles and camper vans, showed him the pic of there car and he said he can do it with genuine vw parts for £350 at the most extreme, now i just have to pursuade the guy to go to them to have it fixed, fingers crossed they will as its a vw place and not some dodgy back street dealer. if they refuse this then we know that there in it for more!!

i wonder what the insurance company would say if we tell them we have offered to have it repaired by vw and the peeps have refused, surely they will see that were more than prepared to put theres right, to a higher standard than prior to the bump infact

Fair enough, this guys one is an old knacker, but surely you'd be pissed off too and want it done properly? Fair play to Wayne for finding that price by VW though, seems a good deal for him, and if he refuses, then yeah, he's an arse

there was a witness who saw it rolling down the hill but nobody took her number, the only reason we dont wanna go through the insurance is cus there is so little damage, shells excess combined is £800, 7 years of no claims lost, increased premium next year, i cant see the problem in us paying to have it sorted, the guy gets his car fixed either way!!!!

Oh yeah, I totally understand where you're coming from! But to try and change your story and accuse them of hitting your car, although tempting if they're being arseholes, is one of the reasons Shell's excess is so high in the first place.

I do hope they let you get the car repaired. But as you said, let the insurance know you've offered to pay for the repairs from a reputable dealer yourself.

It does look like they want the money from a write off.

Try talking to them and explain the loss of no claims and how it will cost £1000's over the coming years etc. Say you are willing to pay the cost of wherever they wish to send it for repairs and maybe even chuck an extra £100 for inconvience. It may be worth a try.

Surely there isn't any blame in this case as the vehicle was in good working order and wasn't maned as such?
