Hi. Just gathering some info towards my summer project. I'm wanting to fit an early 2.0 mondeo engine into a mk5 Fiesta shell (1.6 Zetec s shape) I know all the needs (ie change of sump electricals etc) apart form the offside wing engine mount. Is there a direct fit (if so what one) or will I need to fabricate one out of an original fiesta mk3.5 mount? :hsugh:

I've tried the search function but nothing comes up??? :rolleyes:

its been discussed on here before, but the 1.7 puma lump is a much easier fit and a popular conversion

Yea, the 1.7 puma engine wud be alot easier for you to do with almost the same power gains (1.7 puma engine is 125bhp as apposed to the 2.0ltr zetec with 135bhp), or you could even put the 1.7 racing puma engine in with 155bhp!

Would all be much easier than doing the 2.0ltr zetec conversion :thumbsup:

Sorry should have made it clear that I don't want to go down the puma engine route as its not as tuneable as the zetec (i'm going down the 200bhp+ turbo route). I've got good mechanical knowledge and welding skills so fabricating a mount is fairly straightforward. Was just curious whether there was a direct fitting mount! Should have known there wouldn't be!! :lol:

Has anybody got a link for the discussion as I' damned if I can find it :rolleyes:

over 200bhp is obtainable with the 1.6 and 1.7 engines in n/a tuning or turbo
but if you want big power i would personally go down the new 2-2.3ltr duratec route
