Quick question, do upgraded brake pads make a difference?

My Si brakes are not brilliant, I've recently had new genuine Ford disks and pads but its still not great. (however when I jet wash the car they work better :? random! )

Cossie or St 150 brakes wouldn't fit under my 14s.

Would upgraded pads help say to EBC? or is there another route? ( I have already got DOT5.1 fluid)

Any input or thoughts welcome.

hi, different brake pads like EBC on standard disks wont greatly improve general stopping distance, but will resist brake fade a bit better than standard pads when used hard like the odd track day, but did think there may be some larger disk setup which will fit under 14" wheels though
