Jesus. The reason I said go VAG is because like has been said, they're the best. They're very cheap now for the earlier models, very tunable, very smooth, very quiet and not a lot like a Diesel in many respects. The 150 specs revs very well for a diesel will pull to 5k so basically when a petrol Zetec shits itself! I drive a 130 spec GT TDI a lot and I can tell you it's bloody better than the Ford diesel.

There's something about Fords fan that make them so defensive when you tell them there's better out there!

As for French diesels the HDi engine from PSA is very reliable, fuel efficient but still pretty noisy and not as tunable as the VAG diesels. Renault diesels aren't much cop at all. Sadly they're both French so will undoubtedly fall apart after 3 years

Let's face it, Mole will be still bumming Ford come November so it's all in vain.

and yeah Ry, you're right in that sense, as ford finance means it would be easier and it will be a hell of a lot cheaper to run/insure then the ST. I find the Fiesta ST a PITA

On the diesel thing I actually wanted the C2 Diesel VTS, it has 15 less ponies but all the advantages of diesel, just couldn't find one at a decent price.

An update, Ford are set to offer me £12000 for the focus when its fixed, and i have £14000 on the agreement so plan is to get ZS

Tax goes from £200 a year to £35
Insurance from £152 a month to £80
Car payments should go from £350 to £250 a month

Just another question, now my NCB will be gone would i be right in saying i cant make things worse by getting my insurance company to fix my car for the excess? or is this a bad idea and i should pay for all of my repairs?

I'm fully comp and this should all count as one claim??

If i pay 650 excess the insurance pays the rest, the damage to pay myself to fix would be 1100

As the insurance company know about the accident its on record either way so you may as well claim, I could be wrong.
