17s would look silly on a 106! You might get away with 16s if it was a tarmac spec rally car but otherwise it would look shat.

You have to learn how to drive it, you have to drive it differently to the Fiesta. You'll learn it eventually. You'll put standard springs back and think it handles terrible but you'll learn that it grips a lot even after the body has started to roll.

A lad I knew had a VTS and thought it handled pap compared to his previous car because as soon as the body started to roll he backed off and he thought it was running out of grip. No such thing! The front of the GTi will grip way beyond what you think it will and hence, you'll never drive it to its potential Learn to not let your botty quiver when it goes sideways and you'll drive it quicker.

For what mine is, it holds its own against cars supposidly way out of its league. Won't say what its kept up with/beat as i'll be shot down, fortunately know quite a few of those people from a local car forum, the phrase "i was shocked to say the least". Of course there are still much faster cars out there but for the money i think i'd find it hard to go faster for the money (running costs included ).

Can only imagine that clio of yours Scott does this, but on a greater magnitude.
