Pickup is currently 60mm. And was planning on going 35mm on fronts like I had the RS1800 for a while and was fine, but still harsh.

The pickup is plagued with things going tits up on the front end, due to it being daft low and the roads I drive daily aremainly B roads.. so the ride is crap, and it drives like crap!

I rembered the standard RS1800 suspension being great handling wise, so have found this picture with the 16's on...

Basically....the thing is, I would like a nicer ride in the pickup and to stop it being potentially dangerous from things breaking due to the lowered harsh as hell suspension.

I know it doesnt look as good as slammed, but to be honest I bet I can find the standard RS1800 suspension being better handling wise compared to the 60mm gmax!!

What do you guys think? Will the Pickup suit standard ride height with 16's on?

Oh and another slight problem, there are no arch lips..so at standard ride height this might be noticable, but I suppose it wont get noticed much?

Yeah the only thing thats worrying me is if I put pickup to standard, then the arch lips which we cut off to fit the big wheels while being low, will be visable and look daft!

Shouldn't look too bad at standard height paul, and the arch cuts probably won't be noticable unless you are looking for them :thumbsup:

i think that you should fit the standerd suspension but cut the springs down a lil bit to bring it abit lower but keep the compfort :D but dont think the rs looks to bad in that pic at that height :)

Think ive found my old set of standard springs laying around, so will slap them on the gmax shocks... the 16's fill the arches pretty good compared to running smaller wheels at that ride height.. im excited to see how nice the ride will be :rolleyes:

jamie I dont fancy cutting the springs, might make them uneven... but I could try it on some other standard springs to see.. might even be tempted to get some 20mm drop ones

Although, I'll await aload of comments of "it needs lowering" lol...

I think it will suit the pickup, and will go with the whole pickup theme, along with being useful being able to drive down rough roads where I keep driving recently.. If I lived in a town I'd keep it slammed!

are you running standard shocks as 60mm will be hitting the bump stops, my si was 60mm with match gmax shocks and that was about the same as standard, obviously no tthe same but not bad at all, nothing like my coilovers i had, they were horrible to drive everyday with.

Well sometime this week it'll be on gmax shocks but with standard si springs hopefully :)

If I then get sick of it, I might be tempted to get some 25mm ones off ebay or some cheap 35's... althougn 35's are even still too harsh around our roads..

You wont beleive some of the roads I use..a lowered car is hell :( - and as I do a good 1000 miles a month its annoying

Shame.. as it looks awesome slammed.. just the negative things with it... uncomfortable ride, uncomfortable on crapper roads and b roads... things under too much stress, tyre wear etc

If I lived in an a better area and not using crap road daily I'd live with it and sort the camber out properly...although if the car is for performance/track use.. I can live with it, but with coilovers.. but not daily lol.

The daft thing is, on the way home from work down some crap B roads with some good corners etc, I enjoyed the 60mm once again! :lolz:

Might up it to 35mm still tho to get a better compremise (sp?) as its still abit sketchy on some corners, mostly due to tracking I would guess, and shite tyres on the front.

Spent another night sorting things out, swapped over to some better looking 60mm front springs.. drives alot better and smoother than before, and have been down a rediculous bumpy road due to a road diversion on the way home, isnt too bad

60mm might be staying after all... well as long as the 16's fit on the front, if not it can go 35mm on front like the RS1800 was.
