I'm planning in getting either a full stainless system (from the cat onwards) or maybe just a backbox, depending on prices. The thing is, I don't know what make to go for and also where's best to get one from.

The only criteria is that I wan't an inwardly rolled 3" tailpipe but apart from that I don't know whats best value for money and what sounds best etc? Also, if I get one for my 1.6 now, will it be compatible with the 2.0l engine when I do the transplant?

What do ppl think?

Cheers 8-)

for cat-back options its the main magnex, ashley (mild steel), powerflow etc

magnex dont seem to be too loud and look good :)
magnex have inward rolled 3" tips too.
although going to an exhaust place you can spec what you want :)

better off finding a full cat-back system 2nd hand ;) ive bought 2 magnex ones for around £40 each

the 1.6 and 2.0ltr exhausts are the same

be carefull with powerflow. they are franchises and the quality of thier work can leave a bit to be desired. mine was powerflow but it was a decent one. there have been some horror stories of poorly fitting bodges and systems with about 20 welded joins in

so just be careful where you choose if your going custom ;)

Cool! Cheers for the advice! I was looking into magnex exhausts yesterday and it turns out that magnex went into administration in July! Some company has bought all of their stock tho and is selling it for a discount so I may go down that line depending on cost. The only difference is you don't get a warranty with the exhaust but thats no big deal!

Are scorpion exhausts worth looking into? How do they sound and wots the quality like?

Yea, I saw that when I was looking into magnex systems. Damn credit crunch! :x

There is now a company selling off their stock for discounted prices without the warranty.

I can also recommend magnex. I had a cat-back system on my 306, with an inward rolled 3" tail pipe. Sounded great, not too loud but just right.

Cheers for the advice ppl! 8-)

I think I'm going to go for a scorpion cat back system with a 3.5" inwardly rolled tailpipe.

(Cheers for your opinion on these dougxr2i 8-) )

Can't wait to get it now, should be picking it up from Demon Tweeks next Saturday all being well. Will sound soooooo much better than my standard exhaust. :halo:
