Right so last weekend and this weekend I've been busy changing the heater matrix. this job, in this freezing weather, makes me feel like this.

and so on.
I was prepared for removing the steering wheel and column, dials, glovebox, heater facia, connectors and then dashboard. What I didn't know was that I had to take off the wiper arms, scuttle panels, TB, Inlet manifold and injectors off as well! And also because I wanted to change speedo cables I had to remove the brake bar and cyclinder in the engine bay (i gave this a miss as it all would of took too long so I currently have no speedo - boo)
The fact that there are many hidden bolts is a nightmare. thankfully putting it back together is easier. (He says with two connecters free and no water level gauge on startup - temp still works - and no R/C/L)... I'm working on that.

I didn't take many pics but..

Here we can see the dash. yawn.

And here we see the gunk in the breather that flowed into my airbox when tipped upside down.
The inlet manifold gaskets were so old it was untrue, so new ones being stuck in with the de-gunked breather means that it runs so much quiter and sweeter now!!!!

Many thanks to scott for lending me his 106 for a week inbetween fixing it, giving me a hand on Monday, and Fi as well for letting me use her 106 too.
To summarise; Never do a fooking heater matrix unless:
A. Summertime.
B. Somewhere well lit and under cover from rain.
C. you have friends to help you
D. You can't afford the garage costs
I'm glad it's pretty much over now, and I have a warm car

yay etc.
