hi people, ive not been on here for a while. computer at home had gon awol, n didnt really have the time to regularly check the forum. but the pc's back n runnin now so im makin more effort on here, last time i posted i had an escort cabby which most of you will remember, however i have since moved on from that purely because of the dreaded credit crunch n had to get something cheap n sort myself out. so i saw this advertised on pistonheads classifieds n got it.
i bought it with white rs2000 wheels, but have since painted them black, also all the rear windows were tinted 100%, which was a nightmare cz i jus couldnt see a damn thing behind me n felt like i was driving a darn van, so out the glass came to have it all removed. the glue took ages to clean of the glass. took the p1ss. lol
also on some of the pics you will notice how low the rear end is, well one of the previous owners decided it was a great idea to cut the coils on the springs, almost by half!!! so i have since replaced those with 60mm gmax, i have got coilovers for the rears bt the gmax came up really cheap, so savin the coily's.
Spec:
1.8 16V Zetec
Pipercross Filter
Adjustable Turbosport Cam Pulleys
Ashley 4-1 Exhaust Manifold
Full Supersprint S/S Exhaust System
Lots of Chrome n Polished bits
60mm lowered all round, Spax adjustables up front n Gmax at rear
im on the lookout for RS1800 ECU along with 2.0 throttle body and 2.0 cams as it will give me a few more ponies.
i had a hick up with my injectors a month ago, aswell as losing drive, bt after motivating myself to get it fixed my mate helped n we found that cyl number1 was flooding and 2,3,4 were not recieving any fuel, so removed the rail and each injector gave a clean, cleaned wiring plugs n they worked fine, also changed clutch quadrant abd cable n got gears. also serviced it while it was in my garage so its safe for the coming winter months.
Today ive been to work to give the car a full mop and polish as the paintwork was poor and was fading, it come up a treat n took some pics with my mates rst cabby which i prepped and painted this summer.
