Hi everyone,
I have come accross my engine bay as being a different colour to the rest of my car. Its black, so I just wondered is this normal as I thought it should be the same colour as the car

Ford did this... they were strange.

Most light colours seem to be colour coded.. and a fair few darker colours where done in black.

But saying this.. all my fiesta's have had colour coded engine bays.. and thats including 2 white ones, one dark green and one dark blue

Yeah its strange mines dark green. Looks like the cars going to have to be completely stripped when it goes for a respray.

Well when I put the 2litre in with all the shiny bits it would set it off if then bay is as clean as the exterior of the car. I always believe that engine bay should be as clean as the exterior of the car. I hate a dirty bay

as far as i no all late M plate si's and all N plate si's had the black engine bay

deff all N plate si's or even fiesta's i have looked at have had the black bays, only seen a couple M reg ones with the black bay

pritty much all the darker coloured fords from 95 onwards had the engine bays in the black primer

Mine's engine bay is matt black, and its an M reg in Aubergine.
