right basically have a 2.0 si 1.6 fiesta si gearbox on it...

both the clutch and the gearbox are on there way out...

im rather mechanically minded have done all the work on my fiesta myself but not this.

what gearbox do i go for?! what clutch?!

how hard is it to change these!!

on a tight ish budget

you after the same performance gearbox wise as the Si box?

if you dont mind then i'd say try and get an S2 box, if not go back to another Si box

or

FRST gearbox, not and S2 or an Si box but still a gearbox :lol: :thumbsup:

i had a black diamond clutch, seem'd pretty good to me :thumbsup:

I had a diesel gearbox on mine dude and was great for top end but id advise the si box for acceleration imo 8-)

does it? you sure its an Si box on there?

si boxes usually top out at 120/125!

143 sounds more like a diesel box/S2 box to me :?

ok well i was told si but he said cosworth brakes and they were transit van haha so i have no idea... thats a sat nav and snooper speed average..went off speedo

imo sounds like you have a diesel box, if thats what your seeing on the GPS ;)

i'd either do for another or if you can get an S2 box :thumbsup:

DERV Box - Good econemy in 5th. Daft top end. But still pretty damn nippy!
FRST Box - Best of both
RS1800 Box - Best of both
ERST S2 Box - Apparently best box to use, specially as with its slip diff :)
Si Box - Acceloration over top end .... but TBH its too short for the 2.0ltr and the above should be used ;)

Clutches, they are all the same on escort/fiesta :)

Because my old si went through clutches for sport and I only thought of it after,

My si clutch was same as my diesel one.. and the one on the diesel one was an rs turbo one lol

i have a s2 escort rs turbo lsd gearbox its great the lsd helps a lot it has been rebuilt as well so feels pretty strong :)

Personally I would find it easier to drop the whole lot out to do the gearbox and clutch. As I can see what I'm doing, and without being under the car at stupid angles with not much light :lol:

I know its possible to do it with the engine in the car, but that would be awkward as hell (for me anyway, unless I had a good ramp to use)

oh and yes, all them gearboxes will fit..
