Basically I just wondered how every felt about them because sometimes I drive with mine on and I really like the look of them when they are. However some people go absolutely crazy if you have them on and its well..... not foggy. Ok I can see their point if the lights are bright and causing problems but personally I dont think the mk3 foglights are bright at all compared to modern which are ridiculous.

I never used them in the fez, just asking for trouble i think, would get me pulled around my area. I will admit to using them (dont know why i do mind u) on the golf though, they are in the headlight though so arent as obvious.

If you rele want to use them at least point them at the ground so they dont blind people.

Well see thats the thing the other day I was messing about underneath the car. When I was down there I thought hold on I'll adjust the lights so they are at maximum tilt towards the ground.
However putting foglights on while its not foggy does incurr a risk of £30FPN which I have already had, why I still put them on I really dont know just a habbit

tbh it pisses me off when people have them on as they do glare and put people off there driving. fog lights are bright on the si if your in another car comming towards you! people who say foglights dont work in fog, its because the main reason there there is so people can see you in heavy fog not for them to magicly make the fog dissapear so you can see
mine only ever come on if its stupidly foggy and as soon as i get through that fog they get swiched off, having them on just gives you that boy racer look and people will think bad of you on the roads

I don't care what the reasons are, if its not foggy and you are driving towards me or behind me with foglights on, I'd get pissed off.

If your coming towards me you will generally get 6 brights and 2 fogs in your face for being a twat.

It is annoying, and no matter how bright you think that are or are not, they do glare in your eyes. Specially on the newer cars.

Personally, I don't see the big deal about foglights. :look: I'm blinded on a more regular basis by incorrectly alligned headlamps which pisses me off more. In fact, I don't think I've ever been blinded by foglights, only if one is sticking up where they shouldn't be!

They point to the ground, and outwards, so if the fog is thick, you can still see the road markings and the kerbs. So how people are blinded by them is beyond me. They're the least of my worries.

However, having said that, it's still against the law. And if you have them on when you shouldn't have them on, you're asking for trouble. Plus everytime I see people with them on, I still think they're knobbers because you just KNOW they're driving along thinking "Yeah, my car looks badass with these on!".

And that is where my hatred for them being on stems from. Not from being blinded by them (because as I said, I can't understand that), but because most people who drive with them on, are indeed, first class, grade A, top notch tossers.

Please don't be part of that group!

i've done it in the past, but i stoped doing it when i realised it anoyed me when people drive up behind me so i must be anoying them.
i just put my rear fog on now if they drive up behind me 95% get the idea and turn theres off, as soon as they do i turn mine off.
personaly tho i think the new HID headlights are worse thers so bright i cant see how there legal.

Fog lights, clues in the name.

Drive past me with them on and ill put my lights on full beam and show you my middle finger, if your behind me, i shall flash my rear fog lights at you untill you get the point.

Aftermarket HID kits annoy me as well, these cheap sets, that people get and there like there so bright people flash me, no its not the HID thats doing that its the fact theres so much scatter and the lights going everywhere instead of pointing where its ment to be.

I love mine! I always drive with them on when its super dark.

Check me out.

 Oh no. They're driving lights and serve a purpose. Twat. If you want a good looking car, then buy one. No matter what configuration of lights you switch on you'll still look like a total arse. If anyone came to a meet with their foglights on I'd defecate on the bonnet :hsugh:

New research has shown if you drive with your fogs on, your penis is on average four and half times smaller than people who drive without them on.

Does nobody else find that the worst ones are people who drive people carriers? They always seem to have them on, but never seem to get pulled by the plod.

I never use them on the SI as they are pointing in random directions and I can't seem to adjust them.

I only use them on the missus car when its really dark, living in Norfolk some of the major and all of the backroads have no street lights or even cats eyes so often I use them to light the way, I then turn them off when I get the a lit area.

I can't really see what all the fuss is about they're not really that blinding and if they are that illegal why do manufacturers put them on cars???
