Answer me this...! Why do some people feel the need to flash me? Sometimes I'm flashed going the other way when I've got my foot down and other times when I've just overtaken some one. Now neither of these situations are ever dangerous. The road to and from work is full of reasonable length straights that you can see around the oncoming corner so you know it's more than safe to overtake. Never the less, they still feel the need to flash me after I've gone passed. Why?! The same for when I'm toeing it towards them. Am I on their side of the road? No. Am I speeding towards a school of baby penguins crossing the road being shown over the highway by a great Panda? No. So if I want to drive enthusiastically when the conditions allow, then I will.

Footnote: Do you ever flash other owners of the same marque as yourself? I read about the RS Clios flashing each other. No one ever gives me any love

i have got flashed i few times to get out the way and a once or twice from people coming the other way, but that's mostly been to warn me and others of a sly police car hidden speed trapping, i flash people on the other side if i see a police car/van hidden trapping people on the other side


i have heard of people from the ford RS owner flash each other, but i've never been flashed by other RS loving people

so i'm with you on the no love

I feel your pain Scott.. I get this loads.. they seem to flash you even tho they know your not going to smash into them while overtaking a car on a mile long straight

Must be the old fuckers that do 50 in 60 zones, 50 in 40 zones, 50 in 30 zones etc


I get flashed a fair bit in the Pickup, along with chavs pulling by the side of me expecting me to race, or chavs pulling along me and taking pictures... and also have had a fair few bikers look at me and put thumbs up while going past me

If I see a car I like I may flash it, I rarely do it tho.. last time I remember doing it was for a Escort Cosworth

i was drivin g 60 mph on a staright road the national speed limit and this audi thoguht the need to overtake so when he did i put my foot down he was side by side me i did it to lewt him know i wont be beaten by flashy cars and at then he put his brakes on been a dick and stopped his car so i jsut overtook him and then he wheel spinnned after me and at the island he said that was a bad move u dont know who your dealing with i said well you overtook me

Ive had this scotty. Back lanes and guy in a mondeo was doing 35/40 all the way

I patiently waited behind in the bends, and when a long straight piece of road came up that you could see along, i indicated, and overtook quickly, and moved back in, but he flashed me, even though its a 60mph limit and he was doing 40

No idea, i almost like the idea of slamming the brakes on and having a go but i don't, i just carry on, it was safe, legal and totally not dangerous yet he flashed me

Fezzy, dude, if someone is going to overtake on the road, speeding us is not a good idea, helps an accident occur which makes it dangerous, if the audi is that insistant on breaking the speed limit and getting past then let him go its not worth driving like that on public roads, leave it for a track

just yesterday i was doing the 30mph limint in a busy built up area when some silly bint in a rangerover sport thort it was clever to undertake me in a bus lane nearly hitting an old gut on the crossing that i was slowing down for, she didnt like me telling her what a stupid cow she was and shouldnt have a licence she missed the old guy by about 2 feet, the speed she was going she would have easly have killed him

no offence to the young drivers on here (most seem to be decant) but what is it about the younger generation and this i have to be the fastest and best attitude??????

If there's one thing I've noticed, it's not just the younger drivers. The past couple of weeks I've noticed a hell of a lot of bad driving, and most of it comes from older people in the executive cars. Some of the stuff has been truly shocking. I've had a few arguments, but it's so frustrating when they really, REALLY can't see what they done wrong, despite it being blatantly obvious to everyone else.

And as for the original post, I hate those people that flash you for overtaking when perfectly legal and safe to do so. The thing that really does my head in aswell, is the looks I get for my car. The old people in my road stop walking their dogs or whatever, to give me dirty looks as I do 30 up our road. It's 30, I do 30. But then there's tw@ts who fly up our road at up to 60-70 and don't even get the bat of an eye lid, because their cars are quiet. Grr.

I only flash at people when they leave there full beam on.

How ever i did flash at this old man tonight, He shot passed me at around 50mph in a small village where a man not so long ago was mowed down then later died.
Its people like him who i hate on the roads because he could have waited tell we passed the village then got on to the back roads then over took me where its more safe to do so.
