If i were to source my own engine and collect all the parts together for a 2.0L conversion, does anyone know of anybody\company that can fit the engine at my house. I have a garage and a car port with good light. I might be picking a 2.0L Si this weekend, but was thinking also about restoring my other 1.6 Si

as ry said, see if anybody is willing to help on here. i think it took me and 3 others about 30 hours to get my 1.6 out and the 2.0 in so you could be paying a fortune for a mobile mechanic to do something like this.

if i lived closer id lend a hand but you a tad bit far away

EDIT: also its not as hard as you think, i stripped my 1.6 down and removed it by myself and i have never done an engine change in my life! and i only no how to do basic work on an engine. so have a go yourself

would my first step be then, to remove the 1.6, take off the bits i need for the 2.0L and scrap the rest, then seek my 2.0 ?

It really isnt hard to do at all!!!!

Drop your 1.6 engine, take the relevent bits on, get your 2.0ltr engine, fit them said bits, then put it back in.

Its a case of front engine mount, side mount, and the gearbox cradle.. and just un doing things like wiring, pipes, gear linkage, driveshafts

simple.
